Entrance override

Any chance we can get a... welcome mat (?) that acts as the place you load in when entering a house? Some houses have amazing spots that I would rather use as an entrance. T_T

Make it a collectable so you can only have the one and not break the game?

Oh my god! This would be awesome!

There are so many houses that are too big with limits and I need to waste my precious limit on making outside good :s

Indeed. Take Pantherfang for example. It has this awesome gatehouse leading to the bridge outside, but you're forced to enter by boat in the sewage tunnels, and I don't see any reason for it to be so. Yes, you technically enter the house from the outside by boat, but let's be honest - how often do you enter your homes by actually walking to them from the nearest wayshrine instead of just porting in? I think I've only done it about half a dozen times with this particular house, and I've had it for nearly two years.

Making a welcome mat would allow for great versatility in building and decorating our houses. Please make it happen.

And if you're worried that it will be abused to kill or trap players - just limit possible spawn areas to relatively flat portions of the ground or existing floors so that players are guaranteed to be safe where they spawn. It's that simple.

Or make the welcome mat a platform in its own right, so players port in standing ON that platform. And make them invulnerable to damage while standing on it, like when you come out of a door in Imperial City (because yes players would absolutely use the collection of poisonous plants etc that are already available in housing if you let them).

Just make it impossible to place anything else within 1-2 meters from spawn. It already works that way with regular spawns.

I hadn't really thought about people using it to kill players, but even then a death in a house doesn't mean anything. I more or less imagined that if it wasn't placed on a solid object that it's outline would be yellow and thus not work. Like a chair to far in a wall/floor or another chair too close to it.

Nice idea, I could think of a few uses for this. Even better if you had 2 spawn points, one when you use the door (normal one), and one when you teleport in (the custom one).

There are at least a few threads requesting this and I wholly agree. An invulnerable platform (like in Cyro) is a great idea. And this would make Lunar Champion actually usable - it's a great home, but I hate to visit my own or others' builds there due to multiple loading screens.

I am really hoping that ZOS gives us a heap of housing things. This being one of them and I would also love to see 'portals' or 'doorways' that can take you to another house that a player has it set to.

I have a few houses that I consider all part of each other so heaving a doorway that takes you from one place to the other one ALONG with the alternate starting/spawning location it would really give that feel of it being connected.

Love this idea! It would be such a nice customization to be able to have in our homes.

Agreed, I love Pantherfang but didn't buy it because of this.

And you cannot really trap players, even if someone manages to somehow set up a death loop, relogging automatically ports you out of someone's house.

Same - how many of us grab large homes and break them down?

I'd probably acquire MORE homes if I could use their basements, caves or even cliffside. I can't bother decorating elaborate gardens with foilage - but basements, cellars, work areas below the earth are all for me!

It'd even just help with the visuals - I think Forgemaster Falls has a great view of the bay, but I could just build a small cave passage (or entrance via the waterfall) and now we have top-down sightlines to appreciate the view! Homes would have so many new uses if we could reframe how they're approached.

As a first step, simply allowing us to choose which entrance is the main one would be good. Many homes have multiple outside doors, but the one you port inside is fixed.

For example, I would like visitors to the Gardner House in Wayrest to arrive in the courtyard.

I'd love this. And whoever said "make it it's own platform so they walk in and are standing on it, invuln like in IC" - I think this is a good way to do it! i like it!
