in their hand from what they bought previously? And this without even using psijic. It is really strange and I cannot explain. I don't say they cheat please don't get me wrong. I just have no explanation of how something probabilistic can be so tweaked in favor of one player? For instance if they get the pelin card that draws another card on synergy they more often can trigger that synergy than not despite only having two pelin cards in their deck. How is this statistically possible? And please this luck is pretty consistent.

Statistically it should be that in one turn they get the right card at the right time and another turn it is me. But since about two or three seasons this seems no longer the case that luck on what cards one get in one's hand is somehow evenly distributed. And I have no explanation to that.

You have actually recorded their hands on a spreadsheet?

No, but I have quite a good brain that detects patterns. :)

I asked this as what I observe is that for the tavern there we have the weird behavior that we have apparently phases where cards of a specific deck pop more often. For instance we have a psijic heavy phase where mostly psijic cards pop in the tavern. I wonder if there is a similar behavior for the hand of each player...

It's all luck and RNG (shuffling).

There have been plenty of times when I have 2 or more Power or 2 or more Coin at what is basically the end of my turn, and am faced with the choice of either ending my turn then or else using the Red Eagle patron or buying a Harvest Season card so I can draw 1 more card without knowing for sure which card I'm going to draw.

Sometimes I get really lucky and it ends up being a smart move that makes a huge improvement in how my turn finally ends.

But other times I end up drawing a worthless card that actually hurts me in some way, either because I wasted 2 Power that could otherwise have been converted to Prestige, or because I could have spent that Coin on a different card or converted it to Power using the Crow patron, or because the card I drew would have comboed with other cards in my next hand and I lost out on that by wasting it.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

Ansei deck refresh - can allow you to pull a just bought card(s) from your cooldown pile to the top of your draw pile. Follow that up with any draw function and viola its in your hand. There are both agent and action cards that do this, as well as a combo2 that is another refresh that you can proc late in the hand depending on the order you played your cards. The 6 coin cards give you choice of 4 power or refresh up to 3 cards, combo2 for 1 or 2 power have the most amount you can cherry pick in one action. Keep in mind the order you pick them in is bottom to top now since last update. So last card selected is what will be drawn first if you were wanting to pull a specific card to play right then and there. Makes good for setting up combos with crow to draw into oblivion with hitting red eagle only once.

Pelin patron - can allow you to pull an agent you just bought or acquired from your cooldown to the top of your draw pile. Any agent you already have played in a previous hand or just bought can be right in your hand this way.

Now im not saying that this is exactly what was happening in your experience. Im just giving two examples of where probability, rng, and luck are NOT factors in getting the right cards at the right time when spamming that black button (or any other method of drawing cards ahead of a shuffle).

Of course there is still the luck needed for such cards to show up in the tavern to begin with during your turn when you can afford them. That I do not have an answer for lol
