Cyrodiil Exploits.

How bad are the exploits in Cyrodiil? I've noticed a few people in my campaign(Dawnbreaker) gaining points at a ridiculous speed, ~20k in a little over an hour... I know the bounty quest gives you a lot, but even with that it would take considerably longer given the state of the campaign.

You just need to learn what gets you good points and what doesn't. There were people that got over 400k points during the first beta weekend that Cyrodiil was active.

Dawnbreaker has at least two active organized guilds of dedicated PvPers, many of whom were also long term PTS beta testers. Probably not doing exploits, but also a terrible yardstick to measure your own point gain against.

Not on the Ebonheart Pact side... Most of the time we're spawn camped at our gate Which WOULD explain how they get so many kills, except for the fact that they're rarely at those battles.

Seems they hotfixed during the maintenance to remove them being repeatable. Kinda crappy since now you'll never catch the AP leaders nor be able to level via PvP nor be able to have enough AP for piece of gear and to help repair or get siege equipment...

I would rather guess that they've put a cooldown on the quests

    Ouch, really?

And so the tweaking of PvP begins. Hopefully balance is achieved before the next campaign cycle.

I'm in auriels bow, the highest pop campaign currently, and I originally thought getting those points would take forever. However if you just follow a Zerg around and check about ever half hour, you gain close to 4000-6000 AP. Which was quite a surprise.

Hey @Zythos, could you clarify if these reports were coming from people in the Dawnbreaker campaign who are playing Aldmeri Dominion characters?

Also, is this scout quests or kill quests that people are saying are no longer repeatable?

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌ Also apparently (due to AD owning everything) they were able to accept the quest and port directly to the scout area to complete the quest.

I am part of the AD in the Dawnbreaker campaign - I can no longer obtain Scouting quests at all... working as intended? As a side note, the population is so poor, this is a garbage campaign to be in... cant even find 20 people to kill for that quest...

    Something needs to be done.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom it's likely because a campaign is so overpopped they own everything in the campaign but 1 scouting area and they can port on over repeatedly to that keep they own and scout the enemy farm at said keep.

Something like not have a mega huge force of people roll on one campaign and overload it because the people in charge lied to that alliance and said there'd be people to fight?

It's a self created problem. Enjoy your campaign lololol...

Exactly this, you all join one campaign day one, and no one will go to that when there's easier fights in other campaigns...

Not really... more like bad game design.

I joined when population was low, was not in a guild, had no idea it was going to be a campaign that would *** everyone else...

Now we are stuck with garbage PvP for 90 days? Yeah, that's *** game design.

Not to mention the quests are not even working as intended now.

Nothing to do with the game design. This is just what happens when people rush a campaign at the beginning of the game.

ZOS sort of anticipated this and for the low discount of 15,000 AP you can switch home campaigns during this first month, as has been stated above.

I love the half wits who scream poor game design. Common sense dictates you wait for the servers to settle before choosing a home server. How did this not even occur to them?

Is multiboxing alternate account characters difficult? What is to stop someone from finding an isolated spot and taking turns on each account killing multiboxed alts?

I specifically picked Dawnbreaker as Daggerfall because I like playing on the underdog side. It's working out great for me, AD zerg is absolutely terrible. It didn't take me long to get to top 10 on server, so many sheep for the slaughter :).

A 6 man group I formed up was on average getting 30ish kills before the zerg would finally wipe us. Nothing funnier then being outnumbered 4to1 and we are pushing them back. Go go DC.

The badies will naturally migrate to the over populated side, the good players actually enjoy a challenge and don't mind being outnumbered. I find the quality of players and community is much better, and am very happy playing DC on Dawnbreaker. It would be nice to get some more players though, we've come close to capping the keep a few times but it just takes us too long with small group and zerg shows up. When we actually do manage to cap one, defending is going to be so much fun haha.

You guys capped one last night I thought? And I wish I could say the same, but the majority of our players can't even take a resource... Somehow "Kill the mage" doesn't compute. -_-

On the brightside I get to kill a ton of AD, when we get pushed back to the gate, with oil :D

    COUPLE suggestions/comments:

    1) Would be nice to have the OPTION to leave a campaign in a shorter window of time. (Like say 24 hours or maybe 48 hours). Yes the "BUY Option" is crazy high and I'd rather wait the crazy long period of time and not play PVP.

    2) ALL the Campaigns should have been RESET when the exploit was fixed. Lots of folks not too happy they can never catch up with those that farmed that quest.

    3) Campaigns should be shorter than 90 days (I think it's 90 days still). Just way too much time. Maybe a WEEK should be a standard. I think that's plenty of time for those hardcore PVP to get emperor in that timeline.

    4) Ability to MOVE around as Visitor seems odd. Why lock it down?

    5) Finally - PVP Load balance. Tough issue, but needs fixing (as called out in Beta). You shouldn't see 500 AD people online the same time 200 DC and 100 EP are online. Seems the lock out is just a cap of MAX players. Should implement some sort of filter that prevents logging in if xx% above other factions. Using the 500/200/100 then say 5% of the lowest level faction (only 105 peeps would be allowed in for AD & DC until EP got more players). I know.. the issue is now "I can't get into PVP" due to other side sucking for players. Like I said... tough issue.

You are forgetting that the reward tiers would be insanely hard to get. You get better reward tiers as you raise Alliance score, including items you can only get in PvP (so I've heard). Week matches caused burn-out in GW2 and would do the same here.. long matches are what is needed and I hope they stay.

I'm hoping they add in a few shorter campaigns... MAybe not a week; but a month would be great. I'd fear if it were a week, we'd see hundreds of Emps.

Good point. I forgot about that. Well... then #2 Should be a no brainer then. ZOS should reset all the leader boards, but man the QQ to follow is going to be crazy. BUT... it's the "FAIR" thing to do here and easier this early in the 90 day window and still give those folks a leg up on the others on 4/4/14 that start the game for the first time.

Hello @ZOS_JessicaFolsom the quest became none repeatable for players on Bloodthorn - Ebonheart Pact. Similar to Aldmeri Dominion on Dawnbreaker, Ebonheart Pact owned everything on the map, 4 scrolls, all keeps.

Unfortunately, I got tired of fighting Aldmeri Dominion at a scroll gate and only knowing of Daggerfall Convenant as a myth. Once I moved to Wabbajack, the quest started working again and I was able to obtain them. I did have other guildmates that were on Bloodthorn still that were still unable to get the quest last night. These guildmates left Cyrodiil and came back, still unable to get the quest, but if they Guest to Wabbajack, they can pick up the quest there.

Bottom line is this quest needs to be repeatable.

If this change is going to be made, the campaigns should be reset on 4/4 or the change implemented after the current campaign ends.

Not only does it give no hope to anyone seeking to reach Emperor that switched campaigns because one was overflowing with your Alliance. This is the biggest problem I see, as anyone attempting to catch up now has almost no hope, unless the top people all stop playing. some are 250-300k Alliance Points and it'd be impossible to reach, let allow pass that with this being a daily quest. It's just extremely unwise to change something so impactful to the game once it's in use for multiple days. This quest wasn't a bug, it was working as intended for the beta weekends, PTS and Live, a sudden change is unwarranted and unwise.

It also restricts the resources to repair, provide siege equipment and buy new equipment from the vendors. I have no want to buy siege equipment or help repair as the rewards for doing so are so minor to the cost, when I could upgrade equipment.

Unfortunately, any tweaking to it will upset someone in community that didn't get to use it like everyone else has. It's caused afk'ers and suiciders, but at least they come back. Making it 40 or even 1000 wouldn't make no difference, cause the rewards would still scale and people would just suicide less often. It's bad enough they took /stuck out of Cyrodiil where I've been legitimately stuck twice already, thank goodness you can teleport to another campaign then back to yours as a workaround.

I've been a huge advocate for TESO and got all my friends to play, and even with this seeming not so groundbreaking to the game, it's the wrong time to do the change.

And of course, though it's minor impact, I'm strongly considering canceling my Imperial Edition, especially one that is so gamebreaking to me. A game I've been waiting so long for since announcement, especially being a player of DAoC and WAR for many years.
