Which weapon type provides most single target damage ?

Im currently running dk in pvp with dual wield swords nirnhoned , is this best for single target damage ?

For instance using whip ive done some 13k crits on players

But would a 2h sword nirn or fire staff nirn increase this ?

What weapon is top dog for the highest numbers single target

inferno staff technically increases single target dmg by 10%

but in terms of functionality the duel wield might be better to pressure the opponent if you use like the masters duel wield for the heavy dot

Yes i did think of inferno as 10 perecent extra is huge but 2 swords increases weapon damage and off hand passive damage ? , think ill have to test this

for actual duel wield, i think something like 80-90% of the dmg is calculated based on your main hand weapon, so the bonus to increase the dmg bonus from your off hand weapon doesnt actually do as much as it sounds

will it be significantly higher than the fire staff? that im not sure

since its for pvp your dmg is going to be highly depended on the target your hitting

Inferno Staff skills are too dodgeball in PvP -- you won't hit anybody. If you want to do max damage, you need to be mindful of skill that are easy to target & hit opponents with, given the various obstacles (lag, desync) that are part of the PVP environment. I hate to say it (because it's over-exploited and mindlessly pervasive already), but both Whirling Blades (aka "Spin to Win") and Dizzying Swing are pretty forgiving/easy to hit opponents with. So if you really want to do the most damage (and hit actually hit people) I'd recommend grabbing the Master's Dual Wield (maces for pen) and spamming Twin Slashes at close range.

It's what many builds (and almost every StamSorc) are doing to be effective.

Yes i normally pick whip as my spammable might try dizzy swing and yeah ive noticed a lot of twin slashes being used also time to farm masters dual wield

I use the masters DW set up on my DK. I have whip and FoO on that front bar and once I've got the charged whip ready I stun with shattering rocks hit Slashes to get the 15% buff from ruffian, then hit the whip.

Definitely dual wield. if you’re not going for crit or corrosive spam, maces>swords.
