I own a laptop with a rtx gpu and a desktop computer with a gtx, what I noticed is over the days rtx laptop have somekind but cool looking reflection/shadow/lighting(?) on my characters armour. Is there a way to get that on my desktop PC too? Is this have to do something with HBAO+ / SSAO in game settings? If so please guide me to the gods path because I LOVED that lighting on my glorious Imperial armour.

Pretty sure there is nothing inside the game code that would allow it to use any of the RT cores that RTX cards possess. There is NVIDIA DLAA in the game, but that doesn't sound like what you saw.

The game does have SSGI in the settings that any card can use, perhaps that was the difference? HBAO and SSAO just add shading/shadows where objects come close to each other so that doesn't quite sound right either.

Could it be something as simple as the monitor settings? At my last job I had two monitors of different brands side-by-side, and even though both were running off of the same desktop graphics settings their colors were noticeably different, as was especially evident in shades of white. I spent a long time trying to tweak the various settings on both monitors to get them to display the same colors, but it seemed to be impossible.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

In "Usersettings.txt" is your "SET SPECULAR_MAPS" Set at 0 or 1? 0 causes armour and other objects to become dull, whereas if set to 1 it makes them all shiny etc.

It could also be "SET CHARACTER_LIGHTING" being set to "0". Having it set to "1" gives light sources on your character.

Unlikely that unless you've tampered with the settings before. Other than that - no clue.
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

Thanks all, I think I found it thanks to reply above me , I pretty much edited my user settings file to reduce GPU heat in summer season from last year because it was real hot in my room. I did set it to lighting thing to 1 and I believe what I'm seeing now my big Imperial girl have some cool looking lighting on her armour.

    Thank you all

Aye no problem. Was a long shot suggestion Usersettings, but glad it worked out! Maybe one day ZoS will add Ray Tracing... If the engine or whatnot allows it.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic.

    Thank you for your understanding
