How to increase spell/weapon damage?

Can't figure out how to get those numbers higher than 4000. The most I could manage was 5000 while using Dro'zakar.
1] How do you get your own sp/wep dmg to 10-15k?
2] How to increase group's sp/wep dmg? Seen people giving 2000+ buff in group and mobs just melt when you get that.

Don't tell me it's any major-minor buffs because those barely make it to an additional 500 damage combined. Where is this coming from? I am talking about the stat sheet numbers, not damage output during combat.

    My templar PvE DD is in the 4K to 5K range, self-buffed. The most I've seen in a dungeon, e.g. with 4 people, is about 8K. I've often wondered myself why that happens with certain groups and not others. The usual suspects are Spell Power Cure, Yolnahkriin and Powerful Assault. Spaulder and/or Pearlescent as well, like Soaroa says. I believe dungeons also add an unnamed, hidden buff, at least when you enter via dungeon finder, but I could be wrong about that.

    Your back bar enchant is another important factor. You should generally be running an Infused back bar weapon and lay down a ground AOE with that weapon. As long as enemies stand in that AOE, this automatically reactivates your back bar enchant on cooldown for 100% uptime, even while you are on your front bar. In other words, use one of Endless Hail, Stampede, Deadly Cloak, or Unstable Wall on your back bar.

    Percentage factors are important to get your weapon / spell damage really high. All medium armor adds +14%. Major Sorcery / Brutality adds +20%. Minor Sorcery / Brutality adds another +10%. You basically get the minor buffs from having a DK or templar in the group.

    I once made a PvP stamplar with up to 8K self-buffed spell damage during the burst window. I think she had about 5.5K at base, then add enchant, Moon Hunter, Witch Knight, Major + Minor Sorcery, all medium armor. Not saying that's the way to go. It was an experiment, not half bad, but as with magicka stacking you need to go hard into weapon / spell damage. If you don't, if you build for more sustain or tankiness for example, your damage drops off dramatically, because every bit of weapon / spell damage is buffed by 44% from medium armor and the major + minor buffs. It goes down as easily as it goes up.

    Potions, jewelry and weapon glyphs, bloodthirsty trait, infused jewelry trait with weapon/spell power glyph, type of armor, 7 divines with Warrior/Apprentice mundus, sets with base buffs (i.e. War Maiden), sets with proc buffs (i.e. Dro'zakar), monster sets, mythics (i.e. Markyn Ring, Stranlgers), and obviously CP.

    Like @fred4 said, there are set and skill combinations that can push those numbers higher. Like a Templar running War Maiden with Soulshine where Puncturing Sweeps is a channeled ability even though it is an instant cast, so those sets alone give 729 and 498 spell damage.

    I'm relatively new to crafting, but doesn't nirnhoned trait also help? i.e. it increases damage done by weapons (and resistance to damage when used in armour).

    Someone I knew said he got to 15k spell damage with thief instead of apprentice. Am using nirnhoned on main hand and all medium. Assume spc is used almost always in dungeons. That leaves sets as you all said. I'll have to get some people together and test it out properly with those sets.

    i dont usually see dmg higher than about 8-9k in a dungeon/trial group

    the only time ive ever seen it go super high (10-15k) is when receiving special buffs (elden hollow 2 spriggan boss, scalecaller peak 2nd to last boss, or inside nahvii portals on sunspire)

    The passive increases damage according to damage of off-hand weapon but for some reason, these days people are recommending putting nirnhoned on main hand instead.

    Also, is war maiden good for any class? I don't hear about it anywhere but is there any situation where it outshines dungeon or trial sets? There should be a very noticeable difference, especially for trash in dungeons and overland. I have other toons to run trials anyway.

    war maiden can be good on a templar, as many of the templar skills are considered magic damage

    it probably wont say outshine a lot of other sets, but on a templar its reasonably compareable in terms of benefits its giving you

    That used to get me to 8135 Spell Damage. That was before the change to three hits per channel on Sweeps.

    Note that this is without Major/ Minor Courage and any Spell Damage line from 2 to 4 piece bonuses, as I run Order's Wrath and Scathing Mage With Slimecraw and Iceheart one piece. That is pretty basic stuff. Nothing special.

    With both Courage buffs (i e. SPC and Yolna) I jumped to 9096 SD.

    The passive increases damage according to damage of off-hand weapon but for some reason, these days people are recommending putting nirnhoned on main hand instead.
    Because most of the damage, like 80 or 90%, comes from your main hand in the first place. That's the problem with badly explained tooltips. A +6% of next to nothing passive results in still next to nothing.

    It can be competitive with other setups, but since PVE is crit damage focued, it will be beaten by more traditional crit builds. With that said, you can use War Maiden on a Templar and hit over 90K.

    PVP is a different animal, and War Maiden can be very strong there on the right build. I run it on a Magblade right now and it is super fun

    Off topic, but if you're still running this setup I recommend "Mora's Whispers" rather than the iceheart one piece. It's an extra 900ish crit rate, if you got most/all the books.

    Ahm, no. I don't. I switched around a lot to run Deadly Strike with Order's Wrath now. Scathing Mage isn't proccing as reliable anymore since U35 when they changed Sweeps to hit only 3 times.
    It went from nigh on 100% uptime to around 70ish. Tragic.

    And I do not have Moras Whispers anyways. I never got the ICP lead. Ever.
