New PVP Achievements Are Shocking

I am not overly concerned with achievements but I know many folks who are. I think it's not very kosher to add achievements like this so late in the game. Additional stuff great, but faction things, not so much.

Well AWA killed a lot of fun in achievements while making the grind in some ways even worse for alts. So they apparently now feel need to add moar to achieve.

@ZOS_Kevin any word on when you guys are going to fix this? I have most of the requirements completed but the conquest mission part is broken. I've completed around 25 and the counter still says zero. And it's that way for everyone.

What if... they just made it cumulative between the alliances? I don't know if the 50 point value has any meaning for completionists (50 vs 150), but what if they effectively remove the other two, and give one or all three alliance face paints for the achievement? Its like those banner things, and the bones for the puppy, but with a steep grind to get all 3.

its actually worse than those other things (the banner emotes and the dog pet), because those are tradeable so you dont have to actually make a character of the other factions to get those

I'm sure they just wanted to make some free PvP "content" without making any actual content. Since achievement is bugged no one will even bat an eye if those would be made into one again, even if it would mean bigger milestones.

Apart from the bugged Conquest quests it seems to go pretty fast, especially since it counts assists and not just killing blows as kills. A few nights of zergsurfing should get you close to the achievement, with only the Conquest portion (once it works) requiring some planning.

Well, there's the reward of however-many achievement points the achievement offers. Some people collect achievements, you know. They can't if they have maxed characters all of the same alliance, at least not without spending on alliance change tokens. I quite like the idea of alliance face markings, but I can't help thinking that they should make the "achievement" invisible and worth 0 achievement points and just include the face markings in end of campaign rewards after you meet the requirements.

Player "A" wants to express faction loyalty with a face marking, they will happily do the work for one faction to get it and the thought of doing the other two would make them sick to their stomach.

Player "B" wants all achievements, they will do everything the game asks of them (stealing, vampire, werewolf, dark brotherhood, vet trials, pvp, trifectas, even emperor) to get them all. Asking for a faction change to unlock two achievements or to simply use other characters is a very minor ask compared to everything else they have to go through.

I'm personally happy there's unlockable stuff instead of just selling them in the crown store like everything else. If you want all the achievements in the game, you're gonna have to deal with the potential downsides. What else could they have done? Doing one faction to unlock all 3 sounds kinda silly doesn't it?

Its funny you say that its a small ask to go to the crown store to purchase an alliance change, then proceed to say its better they offer stuff to earn instead of puchasing it with crowns. It sounds silly to triplicate an achievement by making the alliance you play why you're repeating it three times.

I wasn't suggesting buying an alliance change. I was expressing that I was happy that this was something earnable in game. Completionists have to deal with these kinds of problems in all games. It's fair that if you want to unlock a face marking for another faction that you should do the work in the other faction. I try to maintain at least 75% of the available achievements in the game as I just know I can't do them all, this will just be one of the ones I skip and I'm happy to skip it because I can't see myself ever using the face marking of another faction lol.

When they released the "Alliance Banner" (actually a colored Legion Zero banner), you could only earn a specific color on a character of that faction, yet you could use the banner of any faction on any character of any alliance once unlocked. And since ZOS deleted character specific achievements with account wide achievements, you could earn the title of Emperor on one alliance and use the title on a character of a different alliance that had never even set foot in Cyrodiil.

So I would be pretty shocked if you aren't allowed to wear the different markings on characters of different alliances. But, that depends on if they ever fix the achievement. And since they won't even acknowledge that there's a problem or if they are even aware of it, we may never actually know.

But.... the achievement is still not quite correct. Notice the requirements in the tooltip? Yet I didn't spend 40 Arena Gladiator's Proofs to get it. It just magically showed up in my collections when I completed the achievement.

Yellow marks on face and yellow, glowing eyes. Pact is the same but red, and Covenant is the same but blue.

I see no problem here. To do all achievements you have to do everything. That includes playing with a different alliance.

Yeah, it's not really my thing. I just wanted the achievement, and to try and be the first to get it.

Simple solution to me would be to simply go into a different campaign and play there for a bit.. Though, ravenwatch and black reach are basically dead now in comparison to Grey Host.

This seems like something put in as an afterthought. For me, I was EP, an EP die hard, then I went DC to get away from specific zone generals and their influence on the faction. I was happy on DC. Now its not as good, but I still don't desire to go back to EP to earn achievements for things I've been doing there for years on end already. And I'm a Nord lol I'm not wearing DC face paint and body markings xD
