But i can't find any steel ore? Are they in a different area? I've only been in Auridon, Cyrodiil and Khenarti's Roost as of yet.

    yeah, you can find the ore veins in level 16-24 zones from what i've heard. Im not sure about Cyrodiil though.

    Steel is made from high iron ore. Maybe if you have problems with finding it you should invest some points in Keen Eye skill.

    In Cyrodill you will find ebony ore, small black rock piles. As you may have guessed, that's for crafting level 50 gear. Each metal type is only for a certain level range. As you progress to higher level areas, you will find higher level mats.

    Yeah, once you get off those three islands, you'll find the High Iron Ore.
