The same inanimate wooden crates we have been chasing 'Elite 1vXers' around for the past 8 years while they lag of sight and wait for procs and ultimates.

Honourable mention to Ruby ash Trees and stairs without banisters.

See you in U37 for more 30 minute "Dynamic, Fluid combat" and that fun gameplay I keep hearing so much about. /s

    1) Remove all crates from keeps, outpost, etc...
    2) Once a keep is unflagged the guards in the keep will instantly kill a player they hit that is running around / guards are aware so stealth and invisibility does not work in keeps and outpost.
    3) Allow attacks to pass through trees regardless of the tree size

Game would than be more about skill and resource management and not using objects to avoid damage. It is more how I prefer PVP and what I am use to in PVP.

The only thing I ask is that all damage abilities be given a small cast time to allow players the ability to interrupt attacks and to actual have counter measures for PVP.

Totally disagree with you here, especially with 2, 3 and the cast times. I do not care too much about those crates, even though it is funny to tease and mock10 people by running around them.

About point number 2: this is total nonsense and would make lots of lets say tactical maneuvers not usable anymore. Back in the days, whole zergs ran into keeps and hid till defenders left again to have an easy keep capture 10 mins later. Also resources and its towers are great points of interests for smaller groups and soloers to distract greater numbers. The same goes for the keep itself, where you can distract enemies for quite some time making other objectives easier for your alliance.

    3) This is partly about immersion and how people feel playing a game with unrealistic physics. Additionally I do not see the point at all why attacks should go through objects because you are annoyed by players using objects to break line of sight. Use aoe abilities, think ahead and those situations will be easier to handle. Just because you can not play on a certain level, does not mean you have to change it for others. Also you talking about skill in the next paragraph, but movement and positioning is part of somebodies abilities and skill (just think about other games like shooters, where movement and positioning is very crucial and makes the difference between noob and advanced).

You are asking to make the game harder for people wikth skill and experience and make it easy for everybody else. Because outnumbering somebody will be 100 times easier without objects. Additionally the cast time changes you propose are stupid looking at the current game and performance, where cast times abilities fail too often to activate especially in a laggy environment like Cyrodiil. Also how should a person being outnumbered manage to interupt multiple enemies? this proposal would make sense in a highly specific scenario, where bashing and interupting is actually possible like duels, but thats not the case for 99% of the PvP content.

I just see some mimimi and dumb proposals here. people crying out loud because they got outplayed. Sry to be this realistic.

    Hahahahah!

One of my favorite snippets in all the forum chat: "Sry to be this realistic."

I'm honestly not trying to slight either of you (Firmament/BengalsFan). You've both made plenty of comments that I've found insightful and agreed with.

I find it funny that "realism" is a topic of debate given the subject: a complex, addictive game, with some glaring technical shortcomings.

Sure, you can certainly learn to thrive in the environment by adapting to unintentional "features" that others may call "bugs," and that's life. Some will do fine with that. Alternately, it seems completely reasonable for someone to be frustrated by others taking advantage of those "features."

For example: I play BGs a lot. And recently, the trend of bow gankers staying up in the base, plunking/ganking away when an opponent tries to grab the relic in Capture the Relic, is one that's increasing. So you either have to spend a fair amount of time and luck taking out the sneaky ganker hiding up in the base, or succumb to the HEAL TANK meta so you can just take your sweet time grabbing the relic while the ganker above you does nearly zero damage. Neither option is that appealing to me.

Did the game designers intend bases to be used this way? Does it matter?

What about the player who stays crouched in stealth, watching me have a really good/evenly-matched 1v1, only to wait until my health bar dips low, just as I defeat my opponent, to cast Incap followed by Concealed Wep spams? Is he a sneaky, cowardly, opportunist, or a ruthless strategist?

One thing is certain, reality has never been so dire.

Using the environment is one of the most important tool in any warfare.
The fact, that 1 ppl could survive 10+ is not the shame of the environment but the bad design and game balance.

First off, it is not the player to decide what is a "feature" and what is a "bug" in the game. Lots of people in ESO call others cheaters and exploiters, because they use objects to break line of sight or other strategies to gain some advantage. All crates and trees and walls are in Cyrodiil since launch and if them providing coverage would be a bug, it would have been acknowledged by the developers. So no, it is not reasonable to be frustrated about others using these objects, since they are also available to everyone. People are frustrated because others use these objects wisely and then those frustrated people get outplayed.

Your example about relics and people staying in the safe base is also quite bad, since you can easely counter these people. If the enemy likes to stay in the base, he will have difficulties to interupt you taking a relict. Basically you just have to acquire cc-immunity and you can grab the relict without worrying. Easely done by casting a sword and shield ultimate, pop a immunity potion or just getting interupted or stunned before that. They can counter some of that by leaving the base and then it is easy game, since they all die very easely. This is just an issue of being prepared or not. Actually lots of people have different builds for different bg objectives: defensive sets for flag games, sources of expedition and cc immunity for relict games, aoe damage setups for death matches.

Your other example of the ganker attacking right when you are low health is in my opinion a skill issue in the end. Sure it is frustrating to get killed while feeling somewhat safely in a 1v1 or right after, but situational awareness can overcome this. Cyrodiil is open world PvP, so you are never safe basically. Keeping that in mind, that at any given moment a ganker might attack you helps a lot staying alive. For me personally this only happens to me when i am outnumbered already by several players, where the additional ganker does not make a difference anymore. But mostly they are no issue at all, since you hear gankers very easely before the damage is coming in. I am sure you do not feel the same way from your description, but a hiding enemy waiting for his opportunity again is a very real situation again.

I wonder how this set would perform if you golden it out. The picture only shows the blue version.

Then you won't mind if they enable Physics on all players and NPC's in PVP and stop you dodge rolling through them.

Wouldn't want to ruin your immersion 😉
