Mechanics Are Hard ∙ A PvE/PvP/Social Guild
I am not going to give you some long obnoxious "sales pitch" on why Mechanics Are Hard is "the guild for you". The guild tries to target players of all skill level. There are no silly requirements. There are no silly schedules you need to adhere to. There are no silly rules you must follow. You log on, you do what you do, and we simply ask that you be respectful to one another. Toxicity, and elitism have no place here. Along the way we hope that you find some usefulness out of the guild by grouping with others to play the content you want to play, potentially make some friends as you go, and rest easy knowing that you do not have to micromanage your guild membership alongside actually playing the game. About The Guild / Backstory
We try to target your "every day players". People just like myself, and just like you; players who just want to enjoy the game for what it is. Rather you prefer and enjoy casual overland content, PvP, or harder 4 & 12 man group content you will always have a place to chill. The guild originally formed on PSNA, and was created quite some time ago on PCNA. However, only recently did we actively begin recruiting (over 170 members in just over a month!). We are
NOT a trials guild, and as a guild we never stepped foot in a veteran trial until the recent Elswery event so please do not join with the impression that we are. However, since the event we have seen a vested interest within the guild to do some of the harder content in the game such as veteran DLC trials
so that is something we have been putting some focus on lately.
As a guild we must have ran veteran Sunspire during the Elsweyr event what seems like 100+ times now looking back at it. We had many players get their first ever clear, and we taught mechanics to lots of players along the way. Many of the runs were comprised of new tomb healers, new tomb runners, people who have never done portals before, and many players that have never stepped foot in a single trial before - let alone veteran Sunspire. There were never any DPS requirements, Discord requirements, gear requirements, level requirements, or silly rules about needing to have completed it before. We didn't care if we wiped. We didn't care if someone messed up. We typed in chat and discussed things in Discord, and went back at it! Our completion times ranged from between 32 minutes to around an hour depending on the group; with one outlier lasting about 2½ hours. Since then, as a guild we have completed numerous normal trials, vRG, vKA, vCR, vAA HM (speed run), vSO HM, vAS, and vBRP.
We do have a core trials team who will often make up some of both our scheduled trial events, and our spur of the moment trials to help make things go as smoothly as possible for everyone involved. We like to be as inclusive as possible while simultaneously trying to avoid wasting everyone's time. We like to let everyone get involved in raid mechanics (and often encourage it), and are patient when teaching members who have not ran specific content before. All we ask is that you remain patient, and listen to simple instructions to help make things go as smoothly as possible in larger group content. At the end of the day though, other than trials, we have members who request help with overland content, story content, build advice, 4 man dungeon achievements, daily pledges, gear farming, and everything in between.
We try to make everyone feel welcome, and try to moderate things as much as possible; however,
we are not the babysitter or the Internet police. If you request to join, please do so knowing that we cannot and will not attempt to control the actions of others. There has been great chemistry, and many fun nights within the guild thus far which is something we take pride in. We do not want drama of any sort to tarnish that! If you join, and you do not feel like this is the guild for you, there is no need to make a scene like I see in so many other guilds I have been a part of. Just leave, and pursue finding a guild that is right for you!
