Time again to bring up the horrible design of the Tavern - Replace it every turn!

I've been saying this for a long time now, the main thing that is holding this game back is the horrific design of the Tavern. I like the shared card aspect. What I don't like is the RNG nature of the tavern. Now in every deck there's "Good" cards. Some better than others. But point is you don't need many of them to obtain a deck advantage. Once you have this advantage, there's no reason for you to pull cards as that advantage keeps pushing you forward. Exception being is if your gold generation is good enough.

The tavern needs to be fully replaced every turn. Give players new cards to pull from to build a deck around.

Why?

This does so much. It prevents these drawn our turtles where players are afraid to pull cards because they may be replaced by S tier cards. Games move much faster as people are actively trying to build decks. You will see combos/playstyles you don't normally see since players have more opportunity to build them into that.

Now a days I spend a majority of my time fighting NPCs. Why? The NPCs will pull a card almost every.single.turn. And I do the same. I try to form strategies at what is given to me instead of turtling and waiting for an s-tier card. I get to play strategies and combos I normally wouldn't ever see or be able to against players. Matches last 5-10 minutes too because NPCs are actually playing the freaken game instead of a game of chicken. There's so many times where I've won and lost thanks to the garbage meta that the tavern produces. Here are some examples recently.

1. I got a turn 3 armory. I stopped drawing cards after that unless another "great" card formed. I just upgraded my gold cards over and over again. My opponent knew that they were now at a huge disadvantage. Every 1-3 turns I'd generate 6 power. So they HAD to buy stuff because my score advantage was creeping upward constantly. So they were constantly buying cards that weren't great, but gave them some kind of chance. Issue was is that those cards were get replaced by cards that I could combo. So I sat there spamming armory while my opponent actually bought cards. Then when his bought cards would get replaced with something good, I'd buy those. When I was on my 7th turn I also acquired a legions arrival and siege volley. Which gave me an even greater advantage. The opponent tried his best to come back. He had bought a lot of blue cards and a few power cards and was using that to try to get an advantage. But when they FINALLY had enough cards to combat my 3 red cards, it was too late. I was already at 34 power. They were able to climb up and were at 20 power at this point. Next turn I had I won. I barely did anything except spam one card. Barely played, barely interacted with the tavern. Yet they were actually playing and trying their best, but they still lost. If they didn't have so many turns where half or more of the tavern was filled with contract cards or bad cards, they may have come back. The game would've been significantly different.

2. Another game, I ended up getting 2 crow cards by round 4 while the opponent had none. Because of this I was routinely generating 8+ gold. This allowed me to move the tavern more and grow my purple advantage even more. As I could buy cards and usually buy their replacements quite easily. I was generating tons of gold and power fairly quickly. And my opponent couldn't do anything because aside from the purple cards I was buying up, there was just bad cards in the tavern pile. None that could come close to the power of crow or they were so expensive that by the time the opponent could afford them, I had a huge advantage already.

You want to stop situations like this? Want to stop those players who leave after 1-3 hands because of advantages? This is how.

And bla bla bla, blue/psijic can help move tavern. I know. But its not enough. And yes its a balance issue too. But this garbage tavern system amplifies balance issues tenfold. You released a full fledged card game in your MMORPG. Now you have to support it. If you didn't want to support it, you shouldn't have released it. I stopped playing back in June and coming back to ToT and seeing little to nothing has changed is just embarrassing. This whole card denial and turtle strategy is not needed and is unhealthy for the game. I understand it adds *some* skill to the game, But it causes more harm than good. I complained about it when it was released, but because of the honeymoon stage of the content not many agreed with me. Now that the attitude seems to have changed for ToT and participation rate has dropped. People who I argued with about this back then are either banned, inactive, or don't play much anymore like I don't.

Its time to make a change.

Make ToT fun again
