Crown crate removal?

I hate the crown crates and just want to buy the item I want, not this crown crate mess.
I'm especially allergic to gem exclusives, for instance, I really wanted that Watcher pet but it's going to cost 200 or 300 gems, which is insane. I'll have to buy crates in hopes of duplicates even if I don't want to, it's ridiculous.

I can buy anything in a crate using endeavours instead of crowns. Happy that there a choices for different people.

Two a year? Hardly think that qualifies as getting whatever you want.

Loot boxes of any sort are predatory. I'm not against a cosmetic cash shop (as it was before), where someone can make an informed decision on if they want to use real life money for something. I'd rather things be earned in game, but that's never going to happen.

Loot boxes are straight up gambling. For sports betting, this comes with an age limit and numerous warnings in a lot of countries.

Not loot boxes though. Yet, anyway.

They are flat out wrong and are indefensible.

No other industry is it accepted. Imagine going to buy clothes, and you have to pay a fixed amount, then get a random piece? You might get a really nice coat. But you'll probably get a single sock.

Or going out for food, paying £50 and you might get a nice steak, but you might get a tuna sandwich.

People would find that utterly crazy. It blows my mind that loot boxes are so widely accepted in the gaming industry.

I'm not calling ZOS out specifically - most companies are at it. They could take a stance against it though (parent company anyway).

If you need to generate extra revenue, you can still do that with a normal cosmetic cash shop.

Gamers need to wake up and boycott loot boxes in every game.

They won't be removed from ESO anytime soon though.

I agree with you 100% and could not have said it better myself!

I buy crowns, if only when they are on sale, but never crates. I have, over the years, spent quite a lot of money on crowns, many of which have gone to buying those absurdly expensive large digital houses for characters on my 4 accounts.

I have no problem spending cash on the game when I know exactly what I’m getting for my money. But spending money for only a tiny chance of obtaining a cosmetic item I want makes absolutely no sense to me. I have my vices, but gambling is not one of them.

I could understand the removing IF it was still the start of the game.

We can like or hate, but at one time we had a chance to get something we really enjoyed. Why remove that possibility to those coming now ?

They will saw us with things no more available, i would personally felt bad for them.

And though you can see so much spot on TV for Casino, tickets wins, and much more, and all this from our government.

If you want to suppress those crates, may be those casinos, and lotteries could be simply banned too and before everything else.

I'm against them so I don't buy them. But I'm not against the game offering them.

I even agree that it's akin to gambling. I just think that's everyone's own personal problem to solve.
