I did the online tutorial(?) at the gaming hall and still have absolutely no idea how to play the game.

Could you direct me to an online link that really explains how to play?

but to put it succinctly: the goal of the game is to reach 40 prestige before your opponent (and hold a lead for 1 full turn) OR reach 80 prestige OR have all 4 patrons favor you

• coins allow you to buy cards from the tavern to expand your deck to generate more coin/power
• power is generated by some cards, and unspent power is converted to prestige at the end of the turn
• you can activate 1 patron per turn unless you use some card which allows you to activate another patron

generally speaking you will need coin generation to be able to buy more cards/make combos which will help your power generation as the game progresses

a lot of playing the game well is just understanding what all the cards do, and how to synergize the decks with one another (what to focus on buying based on selected decks)
