the chains come down and stick into that concrete foundation then lock in...what is it doing? Is it trying to pull the gound up into the portal? rip a hole in the ground for stuff to come up out of the earth? What is it doing?

    Provide xp for the needy.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

The "Arrival" ESO cinematics is about Dark Anchors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BcBpo_Pizg
Also one of recent into additions has shown the daedra assault squads to emerge from these portals and rush to attacks anything that moves (it would be cool if implemented in the game, which currently limits the teleported daedra to stay within the dolmens' circles).

This is explained in the second main quest - the one where you just follow the Prophet and he just explains the lore to you.

Basically, they're trying to pull the world up through the portals into Coldharbour.

You want to have some fun, read or watch some videos about Elder Scroll lore, there's a ton of it out there. I just finished a watching a video on the History of the Septim Empire which briefly mentions the anchors. https://youtu.be/PTmpl437Gf0
Everyone is going in one direction, I'm going the other direction

Problem with spawning daedra all over is that it would overflow areas who are little used, some dolmens are a bit harder to get to, or if limited numbers they would be hard to track down.
But I agree they could roam 2-3 diameters of dolmen naturally.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

@zaria Yes, you are right. i also remember Greenshade awkward "Drowned Coast" dolmen location on the island.
Still, ZOS can add the roaming Daedra assault squads just like the Deadlands roaming bosses for surprise challenges for base-game PVE players. And it could be spectacular if during the off-peak hours roaming Daedra forces take Cyrodiil keeps (and defend these) changing the Keep's status to "Neutral".

    Greetings,

This thread has been moved to the Lore section, as it is better suited there.

    Thank you for your understanding.
