Why am I being punished for defending the ball carrier?

Chaos Ball needs a bit of an update to rewarding math.

Zero points when I muti-killed the teams against us on purple?

It sure looks like the others on purple with me get points for dying, not the defense.

The real rub is the same team. Someone gets two kills and still gets points.

Please explain that brilliant calculation.

Better yet, let us pick our BG instead of being forced into games where I play my heart for nothing.

    Yeah the medal system badly needs to be reworked. No argument there.

    I'm struggling to make heads or tails of the picture though. Am I to understand that the green team won? I don't understand that cuz, from points, it looks like the guy you were protecting was by far the most successful ball carrier.

    This used to be the scoring system for BG's. Not checked it in awhile but think it's still pretty accurate.

    Deathmatch
    Bruiser: Deal at least 5k damage 50 points
    Fearsome fighter: Deal at least 25k damage 100 points
    Gladiator: Deal at least 50k damage 200 points
    Champion: Deal at least 500k damage 400 points
    Heavy Hitter: Score a 10k damage hit (repeatable)
    Crushing blow: Score a 11.75k damage hit (repeatable)
    Minor mender: Heal for at least 5k damage 50 points
    Heroic healer: Heal for at least 25k damage 100 points
    Medic: Heal for at least 50k damage 200 points
    Fearless physician: Heal for at least 375k damage
    Critical heal: Score a 7.5k healing hit (repeatable)
    Rapid recovery: Score a 15k healing hit (repeatable)

    Can't help but notice you don't have "better scoreboard " add-on.
    If you are on pc, please check it out! It shows class icons, account name + character name, damage + healing for all players, all on the default scoreboard. My friend made it for the bg community and it is awesome!

    Sounds like a great addon I'm gonna check it out.

    As for chaos ball scoring, I don't think there's a way for the server to differentiate between defending the ball carrier and just playing it as deathmatch. Maybe it can take distance from ball carrier into consideration, if the devs wanted to do that? Any kills within a certain radius (and it should be fairly large) count as "Defender" points or something like that.
