Timer and card animations

I have lost already several competitive matches just because certain card animations take too long. This is not acceptable. I understand the timer and of course it is open to debate how long it should be. But this whatever the timer will be, changed or unmodified, it is applicable for both players. But when one has so much time losses due to card animations particularly when it is about card to and fro management that this becomes a decisive factor in winning or losing a match this is no longer acceptable and needs to be modified.

To emphasize my point: During card animation no action by the player is possible. Hence the time loss.

I have three alternative suggestions:
- cancel card animations
- allow player to play and buy cards during animation
- add time of animations to the timer.

    Or, another option, pause the timer while animations are playing.
    But I feel like with your 3 suggestions and my 1 suggestion, they could all be potentially exploited somehow. And then ZOS would have to figure out how to fix that.

    I imagine ZOS takes the stance that the player taking animations into account is part of the strategy/risk of the game and therefore won’t be changed.

    I don't know what players are doing that takes so much time but I've never even come close to running out of time when playing my turn, nor has the timer even turned over.

    Same here. I’ve never had an issue either.

    I actually would like the timer shorter. To many games lately with people taking 90 seconds to play 5 gold cards and use the treasury patron.

    The only time I come across this is when I have a really long combo with birds and such.

    the thing ive found annoying is when opponent ends their turn and you start your turn and make a combo before the opponent finishes drawing their cards

    it completely blocks you from continuing to play until the opponent finishes drawing cards because it wont process the combo until the opponent finishes drawing, even though this is not magic the gathering and there are no "instant use" cards that can be played immediately from your hand when it is not your turn

    if you were playing people, this could chew up valuable seconds at the beginning of your turn

    i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them
