My wife first pointed it out in the tutorial, but I've been noticing of late... The player to draw the first patron seems to get one gold to start the match. So far, I haven't been the first draw of a patron to see if I get the 1 gold. But it definitely happens.

CliveIrish✭✭The player who plays second always starts with 1 gold on their first turn. The intent is to have the +1 gold on the first turn balance the fact that the player who goes first gets first pick of the tavern.4 -
