The question is not, if the AI is going to spam orgnum... the question is, if he does it on his 2nd, 3rd or 4th turn >:)

If even the AI is programmed to spam it nonstop, it might be an indicator that it's not encouraging healthy interactive gameplay and might need some adjusting at some point.

I think it's good that the AI is programmed to spam Orgnum, as well as to counter-spam Orgnum if you start spamming it first, because it lets you become familiar with that particular patron and using it strategically, both offensively and defensively.

The AI seems to be more varied than some people realize, because some of the NPC opponents tend to play more cautiously or more daringly than others, and some of them tend to exhibit a better or worse understanding of tactics than others, which I think provides a pretty good simulation of different types of players you'll likely encounter in matches. And no, I'm not talking about Novice vs. Proficient vs. Expert, because you can encounter Expert NPC opponents who mimic many different types of opponents. They don't always spamming Orgnum first-- I always try to start before they do-- and they don't always keep it up once it starts. If I stop spamming it to buy a good card or to call on a different patron, the AI will sometimes stop, too. And even if the AI keeps spamming Orgnum after I stop, I can usually manage to win by using the cards I've bought and calling on the other patrons as needed.

Some of the AI opponents are incredibly skilled. The other day I ran into one that got up to 79, and I was able to get to 81 and still lost because they had an agent with taunt that used up 4 of my power, leaving me with 77. That was quite some match for being an AI match, although that sort of thing tends to be the exception rather than the rule for the AI matches.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I just forfeit when that Patron is chosen. I think the AI starts choosing it every turn after one of us reaches a certain amount of points. It's boring and a time waster. If you aren't after points just chose anything but the expert NPC, the other two do not have that Patron choice.

I've not played an NPC since the update but this makes me want to. It could be a great way to test some strategies for countering it.

They spam it because that's how you are suppose to use it. Sucks just as much Vs players but atleast vs AI you can concede and rematch without penalty until they pick different patrons.

That isn't the only way to use it. Yesterday I chose Orgnum for a game and neither me or my opponent spammed it. They turned it to their favor twice, I turned it back to neutral twice then no one turned it again until the last couple of turns of the match.

There are some nice cheap cards with this deck that can generate a lot of prestige. That's what I like best about the deck.

spamming the same patron every turn is kinda unengaging as it is but not a lot that can be done about it otherwise, as with some other patrons the AI never flips, any game vs the AI is won in like 4 turns.
I just leave the game until the AI doesn't pick 1 of the 2 agent requiring patrons or Orgnum.
of course they'll do the same thing with Hlaalu or Duke of Crows (if you keep flipping it back every turn), so you either need to win in about 6 turns, or have to adapt to just letting them flip crows once and leave it flipped and play the long game to win by prestige

I purposely bring Org to the table when I putz around playing NPCs for the daily. It's the one deck they can play that simulates well enough how a human plays it so I use it as a practice strategy sesh.

As long as you select purple and black, there's no way for the expert NPC to beat you by spamming Orgnum. AI will bypass valuable cards early as it upgrades all its 1g cards. Prune your deck and you can easily outpower it.
