Might have rushed things

So I was a bit eager to start playing this morning and missed the "Be sure to place any important items in the bank before you delete a character".

I didn't check my mail with my first character creation but on my second one I did and had the monkey pet and the scroll of mora. However I'm not sure if that's all that was supposed to be in there. I pre-ordered my Imperial edition from Gamestop if that helps.

Customer support will set you up. You can read the FAQ on the preorder bonuses if you want written confirmation so you don't freak out (like I would).

It might take awhile though, between early access and then full release on Friday, ZOS will be handling a high volume of other problems. I would ask now, before they get flooded nearer to Friday with things to do. Hopefully you can get everything back before then.

That is all that is supposed to be there. The Explorer Pack goodies are going out on official launch day (4th).

NB: Some people received their Explorer packs today, but this was an error. You will only need to contact CS if you haven't had yours by next weekend.

Unfortunately most people expected them to handle things like any modern MMO, where the game mails you all of your special items to each new character you make, and not just the very first one.

Granted, it's mostly just an inconvenience to us since they'll give your items back if you lose them (eventually), but a gigantic pain in the *** for them since I'm sure customer support is going to be getting hammered hard within the first couple weeks. Hell the launcher even has a post now about it.

Yeah, but who wants to have your inventory flooded with pets? Basically get one of everything and store them in the bank unless you want to use it.

Also, I think a good reason for it is the advantage that the Rings of Mara would be if people were to accumulate them by making alts, and to a lesser extent the treasure maps. Easier to just get one of everything than have some duplicate and others not, although maybe I'm wrong.

Then you take that monkey and you throw it to the ground!

They could also have just placed an item redemption npc somewhere in each main city that you go to for your items. Accidentally dropped one? Grab a new one. It probably wouldn't be hard to setup, and it would save customer service a ton of headaches, leaving them to deal with more important things than "i deleetid my munkay".

Theres all kinds of ways around the pet issue. The way TOR handled it was very smart. You click on said pet/mount and it becomes bound to your character separated from your inventory and bank. You could always access it without ever having to go running for the nearest bank location.

As for the Rings of Mara. They could of coded it so that once you utilized the Rings with someone else. Youd never be able to use them again.
