Why do some games reward only 45 rank points?

I've noticed that sometimes after playing an NPC and winning, I only receive 45 rank points, rather than 90. The first couple of times it happened, I'd won by gaining the favour of all the patrons, so I thought maybe that was the difference (though I wondered why. A win should be a win, no matter what). But this morning I spent 20 minutes playing the novice NPC in Greenshade, beat him the usual way (40+ prestige), but only received 45 rank points.

Why? What are the reward rules here? Given how long a game takes, it's discouraging to win and receive only half the usual number of points.

Short answer: you sometimes gain 90 XP because of first win of the day bonus.

Long answer: You can find the XP gains in this spreadsheet. NPC victories scale with difficulty, giving 45/60/75 for a win (and a flat 30 for a loss), with additional 45 points for a win every 24(?) hours. This bonus is applied regardless of difficulty or mode played - you can "proc" it in a ranked PvP match as well as in a Novice NPC match.

Oh, I see. I usually only play one ToT game/day max, so that's why I usually see 90 pts, then. Today I had some extra time and decided to play a game, which explains the 45 pts. I hadn't passed the 24 hrs from my win last night. I played again tonight and received 90 pts, since I was in a new 24 hour period.

Okay, now that I know, I'll stick to 1 game/day at all times and will know how to plan my play times better.

    Thanks for the info.

    Cool spreadsheet, BTW.
