After all these years I still don't know ... is Interrupt considered a Bash?

I'm running out of places to put my CP points and noticed there is a damage boost and cost reduction star for Bash. I always interrupt whenever I can but now that I'm thinking about it, is this normal interrupt skill I have hot keyed considered a Bash? You would think I should know this but even after a search, I can get no definitive answer.

ThX in advance!

    Every Bash is an Interrupt.

However, not every Interrupt is a Bash! Stuff like Crushing Shock wouldn't proc things that say they proc from bashing in specific.

Thanks but is the standard interrupt, that every class gets and is featured in the newbie tutorials for us to practice, considered a Bash?

think of it like this when you hold right mouse button and click left one your character does a skill called bashing and it does a certain amount of dmg if you didnt cast it on environment it will also cost some stamina every time you use it and if the target is channeling a skill you will interrupt it

interrupting is an action done by either bashing or using a skill that has a interrupt on it as we call it but the skill in game would have a description of it will interrupt the target if channeling so it doesnt really have an interrupt on it for real its just a form of saying it

so tl;dr - bash - an skill from your character that will interrupt
    - interrupting - action that is done by using any form of ''interrupt'' skill on the target

fun tip: bashing is not on a global cooldown so it can be done as a 3rd action in the game without wasting any time technically like after lightattack weave just the same as a bar swap, synergy or a potion consumption

Now I understand. Thank you for hand holding me through this!

The act of light attacking while blocking is a bash, as well as the shield bash skill from the one hand and shield skill line, any other interrupt is not considered a bash.

As said above, the answer to your question is yes.

Putting up your block and light attacking is a bash and bashes are one effective way to interrupt.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

If you read the wiki page for combat, you will understand that bashing is a core combat ability that might result in an interrupt. The requirement is the opponent using an attack with cast or channel time. Your current cost and damage should be listed in the advanced stats tab.

Interrupt is a combat effect, that can be the result of a bash. Other abilities have the potential to interrupt as well, but are not considered bashes, such as Venom Arrow or Crushing Shock.

The mentioned CP stars only affect that core combat ability, its cost and damage respectively. And nothing else.
