Necromancer is... blah...

I really rather regret buying the necromancer class. I had vision of something similar to D2's Necromancer, with pet skeletons all around. So far, all i get is a glowing blue skeleton bomb. What's with all the blue in the spells? Looks more Disco than Necro to me.

The sorcerer gets a stack of pets running around, why didn't the necro?

Because the sorc's pets have a major flaw: each pet takes 2 skill slots.

Necro has skeletal arcanist and spirit mender that do not have the same limitation as sorc and follow you around. It also has the ability to resurrect players, summon flesh atro, and turn into a huge skeleton monster thing. I do not see the issue with necromancy here...

I want more summons. The only reason I still use the skeletal archanist is so that I feel like a necromancer. The skill honestly doesn't feel like it's good enough. I wish it gave necros the major sorcery/brutality buff while summoned. With the ghost nerf coming up, I will sadly be losing another summon because I don't think the guardian will be worth slotting anymore. I'm trying my best to stay away from generic weapon skills to role play a necromancer but it's getting hard.

I wanted a necromancer with skeletons, and corpses and the like, but what i got was some weird mage type class with glowy blue spells.

I played StamDK for 2 years. The last year I was so bored that I only logged in for dailies and writs.
I made a MagCro and I am loving the mobility and the skills.
    Nothing to complain imho.

I only know one thing: you will never love all classes in a game. There is now way that can happen.

You know what? Instead of all of these combat changes, maybe look into enhancing classes instead?

A Necromancer should have a skeleton that's able to follow him. I will gladly sacrifice one/two slots for one. Who wouldn't? Arcanist is weak and usually discarded for weapon abilities. It's sad. Blastbones is fine, but Arcanist can be permanent. That would make me feel like a lord of the dead.
Making a game fun should be a priority. Making a game balanced should not come at the expense of fun.

the 2 main reasons i see that they implemented timed pets instead of permanent is
    1. all of the necromancer pet summons are marked as criminal activities (and will get you bounties if summoned in town)
    2. part of the necromancer "quirk" is to generate corpses to fuel other abilities or your ultimate

but i agree that i was not that happy with now it was implemented either, i also really dislike the forced cooldown on blastbones until it blows up

I enjoy my mag vampire necromancer, lot of synergies to go with (not t mention the roleplay, even tho I'm not a roleplayer myself lol)
You have 1 summon in each class trees and they let you fuel your corpse requiring skills, but yeah I'd like to have at least one perma summon to go with

I love my necromancers, the class feels like a better version of Warden. If they fixed some of the glitches with the tethers and boneyard, I would have zero complaints.

Necro Summons have alwasys been on a timer, because of three things.
    1) There are considered crimes within the justice system.
    2) Limited summons fit the roleplay better, because, you know, Necromancy.
    3) And constant recasts serve as a offset to the summons powers. Look at how weak Sorcs Twilight Tormentor pet is, without the power injection.

Necro pets need to be temporary because of the way the corpse system works. And to be honest, I prefer the shorter duration abilities like intensive mender, as it means you can generate a new corpse every 4 seconds.

I prefer the temporary pet system. I don' want to have to sacrifice 2 bar slots for a pet like sorc does. The only thing I think that needs changing is the fact that Necro pets can't proc sets, but function as regular abilities in most other ways. This severely limits the kinds of proc sets you can run on Necro.
