The Player-versus-Player daily should reward playing not winning

With all the luck based card game that ToT currently is due to some unbalanced cards i would propose that the daily at Gonfalon which encourages you to play with other players through queue should reward losses as well. Depending on the situation you might have days where you cannot even hand the daily in due to a loosing streak which is a hard turn-off to the entirety of the game.

After all the game is something that is extreme time-consuming (often 20+, sometimes even 30+ minutes) and it feels bad to do so much for nothing. Perhaps wins could count double so it still encourages to try.

I agree. It shouldn’t only count wins. Took me over 2 hours to complete it the other day. That’s a bit ridiculous for a daily, imo.

    This is a reasonable suggestion.

I think its fine as it is. You can just win once and then hand it the reward, the quest goes the extra mile for winning additional games.

definitely should count just playing, since the opponent forfeiting/conceding may not yet be counted as a win for the quest

    if you lose: no progress
if you win through concession: no progress

I think they did it this way because for eg., you could echanges loses with a friend/guildie on purpose to get the daily completions fast.

if the quest required playing match-made games, you are getting matched against random people, so this wouldnt be an issue

ive seen in several threads now that people complaining about doing this quest through the queue, especially for ranked, if someone knows they are likely losing, they are going to forfeit instead of spending another 10-15 min playing out a game they know they are going to lose anyway

This is a huge problem. I just played a match for 20-30 minutes, ended up with a definite victory, and then the opponent forfeited instead of just letting the turn play out.

I had to then go find another PUG match to complete my quest.

I get that the goal is to not make it so you can finish the quest by having someone just forfeit right away, but can there be a check added so that if a match has been played long enough that the quest will count a concession as a win for the opponent?

Of my last 30 games, I've lost 23. Of those 23 losses, I had the potential to win at least 5 of them, but the player(s) either disconnected or crashed, and they were null.

The matchmaking seems pretty horrible, as well. I'm only a rank 3 Novice, yet everyone I've been going up against players with all decks and have next to no chance of winning. At this point, there's no reason for me to carry on with the cards, as NPCs give too little rank to catch up to the PVP side, and I apparently don't grasp the game nearly enough to compete.

Huge time sink with very little reward.

Maybe the daily could be like the battleground ones and have multiple random quests where you would have to for example:
    -win one game
    -play 3 game
-play a game with a specific patron
-use a patron X times over multiple games
-buy X number of cards in the tavern over multiple games
-Produce X amount of power/gold over multiple games
    -Etc…

I just came to say that I agree.

Where I am ranked in the game, it's very hit or miss because people are using that Sorcer-King Orgnum deck and demolishing me. I'm not a bad player but that deck is REALLY unbalanced, it seems. I loved it, at first, but it became boring to use after a few games.

Yesterday, I think I spent about four hours trying to get those three wins. My rank dropped from 98 to like 510. I was so disappointed.

Agree. This is such a frustrating daily.

My friend and I played a match after both having picked up this quest and the win does not count towards this daily. I assume that you have to use matchmaking for this to count so no reason it shouldn’t be play one match.

I didn’t realize the bit about concedes not counting either. Good to know because I have been in a few long matches where I saw I was one or two turns from loosing and was going to throw in the towel. I thought it would have been doing everyone a favor and saving us both the time watching the inevitable but I guess it would have actually been a rage moment for they guy about to win.

If they are so worried this will be abused just put a “runs” rule in place. Even if someone drops or concedes both players get credit for a “played” game as long as one person has reached 25pt. That seems like a good number since most games have a slow build up and once scores hit the twenties is only a few more hands to go. I also think if this run rule is in effect and someone concedes it should count those as a W-L. Why force players to sit though end game when a winner is clear.

Having a forfeit not count as a for the winner is really broken. I don't think I'll bother with the PVP version until they fix that otherwise, it becomes a truly boring waste of time to have both parties sit thru a game that the end is already determined. Time I can't afford to waste.

    It should reward both.

Require X points to complete the daily. A win grants 2 points. A loss grants 1 point.

This is the best solution since it does reward those who actually try to win more than those that just go through the motions all while making sure everyone can complete the daily even if they are having a bad day.

Most good players are doing unranked though because they want easy wins and not competitive matches.

Yesterday I had a hand that put me over 40. The other player knew they wouldn’t reach sudden death si they conceded on their last hand. They were likely trying to both of us a favor by throwing in the towel. I got ZERO credit toward PVP daily. 15-20m for no credit. This is an issue.

This daily is broke. While I am enjoying the game this far it is really set back by some obvious flaws. If this was the star feature of the chapter - and frankly the only new thing on offer - it seems like it would be far more polished and thought out than it is. It seems rather rushed.

Not to mention - did no tester point out that the shade or RED and ORANGE used are too close together. Seriously, little stuff like that just screams under developed feature.
