How much money do we have to toss at ZOS' shoes so that they finally decide to allow us to put a helmet on them?

I am sorry this is literally the least of an issue ever...If you have a problem with this than all the other "Vestiges" kill the same delve/World/Trial/Arena/quest bosses when the quest is for you only...must be cringe for you as well. Sadly, cuz this is an online game and NOT a solo console game we have to use a bit of imagination to think certain things aren't there. Like how would a helmet truly help when I see players, helmetless, with the exact same facial, eyes and even beard features as the rest??? I guess chalk it up to peeps look alike.

Haven't really seen too many of Mirri or Bastian lately, all Isobel and Ember everywhere I go now.

Still not as bad as when the Deadlands went live in the main city there, you couldn't even see the quest givers at times when you went to turn in or pick up a quest.

I play later in the evening on PC EU and I'm still seeing a good amount of both Blackwood companions, alongside Ember mostly with a smaller amount of Isobels. I was standing waiting for a boss last night with four Bastians, one Mirri and an Ember.

To be fair, immersion is barely a thing in this game, unless you find a quiet corner without other players. All those flashing, glowing mounts will always be a small gripe of mine. But... it's an mmo, players have different tastes, everyone wants to play their way, etc, etc.

It is beyond me why we are not allowed to put helmets on the companions though. No, I know they said something about them being unique individuals and blah blah. Which makes no sense, seeing as clones of companions are the opposite of "unique". And also, why would a warrior or tank companion not want to wear a helmet? Seems out of character to me.

And even if I didn't care about all the clones, I would still want to have the option. It hurts literally no one. Don't want them to wear a helmet? Don't put it on. Want them to wear a helmet? Put it on.

Just another case of "we know better than you, therefore it will stay this way" even when the reasoning is clearly faulty.

The only reason I can think of is that it's advertising for Blackwood and High Isle. Much like flashy mounts, having Companions be very obvious makes base game players aware of how many people around them have purchased the chapters. It's a nudge to make the players think they might be missing out a bit.

At this point I don't think it' a matter of should they...like everything with the wonky engine it's can they.

you would think we would by now have a way to turn off companions, pets, sorcerer pets from other players to not lagg and drop fps and crash, but i guess we have to keep on praying.

I guess this is as good a place as any to mention it for the millionth time: when are we getting a toggle to turn off visibility of companions, combat pets and non-combat pets belonging to other characters. How hard could this be???

I'm still wondering why companions aren't shown as randomized generic characters to other players. It's been done before with quest npcs that follow you around.

In my opinion, not that it counts very much VSRS, your question might just be better served in the Suggestions forum?? It would likely get better views, by the proper people, that way.

Yeah, I don't quite understand why it's not setup so that everyone else's companions are wearing their head gear.

I'm guessing the reason for not allowing any more customization (e.g. helmets) is due to performance.

Well if some set their companion to tank an WB you want to know as you don't want multiple tanks.
And if some is flashing S&B he is a real tank so you should not us an companion tank.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I’d even settle for just letting us change companion hairstyles…anything would be better than seeing 50 of the same character in the same room.

So I kind of forgot I posted this, but somehow (nearly) everyone missed the actual point of the post. I almost put it under bugs originally, tbh, because if y'all notice, the doubled Mirri isn't someone else's companion but the quest Mirri spawning despite my having already gotten her.

Yes, I could interact. No I couldn't get her again. Quelle tragédie. :'(

    A mirri-aculous mirriad of Mirris is not a mirri-cle, but a night-mirri.
