What can bring NB back to the meta of trial>?

Nbs are now out of date pick up in trials, whtat buff they do need to make them back to meta like what they are before Update 30?

Honestly, NB's should become designated finishers with strong executions and damage abilities that ramp up in damage during execution phase. that would make it so you would want a couple of NB's in the group for execution phase burn.

Few good sample cant mean good for all. Ppl still like bring Necs as many as they can . Check logs for necs domanating , it is a real sad story...
However before Update 30 , Nbs Sorcerers and necs are all most as popular as each other. This is what I would like to say that something need to be done to bring Nb back.

Im not sure what this is entailing? I have never once been denied a trial group based on magblade, infact for the score push groups we tend to split pretty evenly magcro and magblade with 4 or sometimes 5 other classes mixed in depending on role/ and personal preference, my nightblade single target damage is still high, I do 35k/s to the boss with my singles while still focusing adds as they come in, and with at least 3 NB the boss will live for maybe 10 seconds after it reaches 25%, so im not sure why you think they're not meta.

That said any group that would actively kick you for percents off your dps because if your class d8ont deserve their clears imo.

Actually buffing it. NB is only falling off bc of hybridization not favoring it super well and also it hasn't really gotten any noticeable buffs/nerfs.

There are so many redundant buffs, & some of the unique buffs fall flat, status effects from nightblade skills feel weak in group pve, they offer little to a group, can’t face roll your keyboard to dps since you have to land all light attacks to maximize grim focus- which doesn’t always fire when speeding through a rotation in ranged situations, the light attack could land after hitting grim, thus resetting the skill and wasting a GCD

3000 Penetration (master assassin)- usually goes to waste on light armor builds or when someone wears alkosh

10% crit damage (hemorrhage)- usually goes to waste when groups run catalyst and minor brittle

They just buffed nightblade with minor courage, tanks already do that

Sundered / diseased / overcharged tied to all the nightblade skills, the damage from those status effects is weak and the added debuffs are all either redundant or useless in group pve

10 seconds of empower tied to ambush? Just nope, and there’s already a bunch of other sources of minor berserk


Why not pick a class where you can fumble through a rotation, miss half your light attacks and still crank out 95% of your max potential while effortlessly decimating large groups of mobs, all while spitting out tons of hemorrhage, burning, & poison damage? I’m not suggesting anyone do that, just explaining why so many people prefer other options now

Well the game has severe combat balance issues. In terms of PvE, the only thing that matters is pure damage.

What I mean is, NBs should be wanted because they are NBs... not because for the millionth time the game balance changed and made them op. Make no mistake though, NB will get buffed and be meta again in everything at least for 1-2 patches.

The only real change to magblade this patch was for nb.... Healing with refreshing path

Currently parses lowest and has the most complicated rotation.

I had such high hopes that this would be the patch of the nb, but all that's happened is make it an even worse pvp ganking nuisance, and nerfed the pve potential further.

Bretons w/ treachery and cloak n dagger stuff had nb written all over it, and id hope we'd see a buff, like dk's received with last year's fire theme.

I haven't even posted a parse anywhere yet, it's embarrassingly bad overnight /////

Nothing. Night blade is the worst class in the game by far. They aren't the best at anything. Literally anything you can think of another class does better and easier.
With hybridization and the lack of necessity of what little group support they offered(minor savegery) they are even more useless than they were before. These days even Dk's can gank better than a night blade.
If there was a class change token I would change my main night blade I've been playing for 6 years into literally any other class. Heck I would pick a random class name out of a hat and go with it because at least that random class would be good at something.

Imagine being gated from content because they parse the lowest. NB is still fantastic in combat and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. For what it’s worth you can pass any content with any class of your choice even without meta gear, it the community that throws up these road blocks not the game itself.

Is it easier in optimized groups where all necessary classes, buffs and debuffs are in place? Possibly, but for what it’s worth it’s not any particular class or missing buff/debuff that’s causing groups to still fail. It’s survivability which groups that stack i to maximum damage seem to fail to take into account. People have their healers in sets like MK and Zen going for those big numbers and dying left and right when they could switch one of those sets and cut back on the deaths. MOAR damage isn’t the only path to trifecta’s especially with how high damage is today.

Back to NB… While they are still solid they became less desirable because the new hotness that is DK has all the damage plus cleave, same for Necro. Cleave is where it’s at, until NB gets the gift of cleave damage group comps will lean towards DK and Cro. And if you think NB is in a bad spot, magden would like to have a word (they aren’t in a bad spot either TBH just not on the “hot” list!)
