33k heavy attack from DK in battlegrounds

    It's a commonly used strategy.
    It is not because of OP item. It was possible to do before the update.

    1h/shield has options for true reflects still, defensive posture and the 1h/shield ultimate

    those are ones that annoy me when i end up shooting myself with poison injection because i fired right as they popped the 1h/shield ult lol

    I actually would rather see the same that we see in IC. No CP BGs and Normal CP bgs. I don’t have a problem with heavy attack people in cp content where I’m benefiting from all the mitigation. The game is balanced around CP (or at least they desperately try to balance it). Makes more sense to me to have CP bg’s added because the game is balanced around that and not No cp.

    That may work if you have oakensoul as you get Major Herorism, I tried it with
    BloodSpawn, Shalk and daedric trickery. I couldn't get it up fast enough to stop a heavy attack. Even when I was spamming defensive posture. There is always a window when it comes off and is placed back that they can get you. Just like roll dodge.

    defensive posture is harder to time, because it only reflects 1 projectile before its consumed, so if you were getting hit with multiple projectiles constantly, posture doesnt work well

    that would work better in a 1v1 setup, where 1h/shield ult is better when taking large amount of incoming ranged projectiles

    This build has nothing to do with Oakensoul though lol. It's existed for the past two patches and is a direct result of stacking Molten Armaments (extra heavy attack damage), Empower (extra heavy attack damage) and corrosive armor (100% pen). The easiest way to nerf it would be to not let Armaments stack with empower.

    Yeah theres no way this is happening, no proc got way too many vocal minority people crying because "no build diversity" even though it doesn't exist even with procs(everyone just uses the same 10 sets in pvp anyway) and the outcry over getting majority TDM/majority objective.
    There's no way a no proc battleground will ever feasibly work

    I disagree, could be wishful thinking but what I would like, two queues:

    1. Group, All Modes, All Sets
    2. Solo Only, DM Only, No Proc

    Um, no. I hate objectives and no-proc.

    It should have always been this.

    Is there a "melee" skill modifier in game? I know there is martial but that can include ranged skills.

    i dont know if there is a tag that says something is melee or not

    even a set like noble duelist is "use a light or heavy attack in melee range", which is why i suggested it be a short duration debuff the enemy takes when they are dmg by the DoT from the corrosive armor

    I've got a couple of issues with these kind of 'gank' builds that are 1 shots.

    The lack of counter play
    The lack of skill

    Getting 100 > 0ed in 1 gcd with no counter play is just bad gameplay mechanics (if you're on a decent build). There's always been gank builds in the game but arguably they required some skill to pull off. Heavy attacking someone for 40k damage from a zerg requires 0 skill.

    The redeeming factor about nightblade ganking was that they were incredibly squishy and died to very little pressure (so took some skill) but as these DKs can pop corrosive too often (with oankensoul) and still have strong heals they aren't even that.

    @Ominer back in the day when I used to gank during summerset with caluuarion, and ultimates didn’t have a global... I had to cast cloak, spell symmetry, ele weapon all on the backbar, then weapon swap into a light attack with front bar into lotus fan into soul harvest and then fear and impale as fast as I could to gank someone.

    These days you just heavy attack out of stealth and maybe cast one skill lol
