Tribute is my favourite minigame since Gwent

Legitimately love this mode. I'm a huge cardgame nerd but deckbuilding has always been my least favourite part. It took a few rounds to get used to the rules but once I understood them I got hooked. Haven't felt like this since Gwent in Witcher 3. Good job ZOS.

    Greetings,

This thread has been moved to the Tales of Tribute section as it is better suited there.

Yeah I like the strategic element of it as well., it is addictive - I would have to do something else in the game, but then I think, well, can't hurt to play another round or two - and then my whole play time (even on a weekend) goes into playing ToT.

It is painfully slow to get to rank 4 though, I win nearly every game against novice NPC, who sometimes deliberately leave the best card in the tavern and pick the 2nd or even 3rd best one instead. That feels like they're letting me win, I am ready for the next difficulty level, but stuck with novice NPCs for maybe several more days - this is not very casual friendly, who don't have time to play all day and night. And how will it be on higher ranks, will I even ever be able to play with all of the card decks, if some are bound to ranking progress and ranking progress is extremely slow for someone with like 15-20 hours/week, because that means like 40-60 rounds of ToT at most per week, whilst neglecting everything else in ESO.

The tutorial, and starting to get familiar with the cardgame needs a lot of work still. But after playing well over a dozen games, I really love playing it.

So yes, I really love the cardgame as well. Thanks devs!

PS: Matches are starting to become much shorter for me as well, about 10-15 mins, and only more when I am having a really close call.
PPS: I am kind of worried about the four extra decks, this might make the game too large. Instead of the minigame it is now with the four basic decks.

Those other decks seem to be very special though and will bring different tactics to the game - just imagine you won't have one of the 4 starter patron decks - which is the one you could eventually let go. Imagine a game without pelin and hlaalu, how would you gain power in this case and how to acquire cards quickly?- There is a whole bunch of new strategies in that.

To me the duration of a match is now somewhere in between 20 to 35 minutes - I don't force the game with the patrons, but try to use different combo strategies - especially when I play with a duke/hlaalu strategy and shift it later to duke/celarius, this takes longer to think about, but it often creates wins of like 50 to 9 - because I acquire a huge amount of cards and play long sequences - sometimes like I would have 2 hands instead of just one to play. This is fun to construct, but it takes time to do it. But quite often the opponent has no chance to get enough cards to counter the barrage of cards I'm playing, triggering combos over and over and over again and putting sometimes 3,4 or 5 agents at the same time on the board.

My view exactly. I am a huge fan of deckbuilders, Ascension, Aeon's End to Imperial Legends, to name a few, its so nice to have it integrated into my favorite MMORPG.

Honestly the tutorial and the first few games are quite rough but I can't see a way to improve it. The game is surprisingly complex at first, takes a while to get used to every mechanic.

And sorry for not putting it in the right section, I didn't know there was one! Saw a lot of hate for this mode pre-release. People mad it wasn't a class etcetera.

Honestly Tribute is so good I'd like to see it integrated more with the base game than be a high isle only thing. Obviously keep some decks chapter exclusive but still. Casual content that isn't fighting or questing is exactly what an open world game needs to feel alive.
