I love it, but I am afraid that the game will be "solved" way too soon. Combos make optimal moves relatively straightforward and it depends on play, buy, patron order, independent of RNG, there will be a what is the best move like in chess and I think players will get insanely good at this.
Against NPcs its ok. Against players? Nah. Frustrating. Meta is boring. Snowballs happen fast, but don't speed up the game. A few select lucky draws (seriously all it takes is 2-3) and the game is decided. You know its decided. But you have to wait another 20+ gosh dang minutes for it to finish. You can't leave cause you then get negative score. I've had my fill. Too much RNG, too much OP cards, too little balance between patrons/decks for interesting play. The fact they went straight into a season without balancing is mind boggling. But yeah TGC in general are horrible from a competition standpoint. With the tavern system this one is even worse.

Can't believe you can't edit a post on this website. Not negative score, meant leaver time.

Yes and no - yes, I think that players will get insanely good at this game. No, it is not really straightforward, what to do. It is quite dynamic, dependent on what appears in the tavern early on.
Focusing on Duke/Pelin works well against a novice NPC, because due to their crippled gameplay they tend to focus on Duke/Hlaalu first and change to Duke/Celarius later on, which leaves them short of prestige for long. They could have a strong end game, if they would be using the Duke's patron feature, but all they are using is Hlaalu. At least at novice level.

ive seen the NPC focus on gathering pelin and psijic cards mostly, sometimes they go for hlaalu cards, but hlaalu is not in the game all the time
ive experimented using other decks such as rahjin and hunding (my personal favorite combo is a set of crows + hunding with some hlaalu cards to get freebies from the tavern lol)
i know as soon as the NPC gets pelin cards though, im on a virtual timer for when they would win due to the fast power->prestige conversion of pelin cards
as for patron use, ive mostly only seen the novice NPC use hlaalu as well but only when they get the 10 cost hlaalu clansman card
