Unable to complete "Secrets of the Lost City" (Alik'r Public Dungeon)

Hello,

After receiving the quest from Paldeen and leading him out of his cell to the Yokudan Tablet, nothing happens.
Paldeen should walk to the Yokudan Tablet and investigate it, but he doesn't want to and stands a few paces away from it.
Thus my quest-objective is a never-ending "Find the Yokudan Tablet", even while I'm standing quite literally next to it.

I tried solving this issue by reloading into the dungeon and re-logging into my character. So far, nothing has worked.

Then I tried "restarting" the quest by quitting the quest and accepting it again, while still being in the dungeon. The following happened...:

• Paldeen disappears, and suddenly comes running on his own out of his cell, all the way to the Yokudan Tablet, standing beside it.
• I have the option to accept his quest, which I do.
• Paldeen has his whole dialogue about the Tablet (something he didn't do before).
• My quest-objective now says I have to "Wait for Paldeen" - but Paldeen doesn't do anything.
• I am able to interact with Paldeen, but no new dialogue option appears to proceed the quest.

I second this and so does many others within the Game.





Images are of Paldeen getting "Stuck" before the Tablet & Abandon The quest then him Teleporting to the stone and doesn't progress from there.

Tried Abandoning the quest and picking back up from his starting location but gets stuck.

I need this for full zone completion hope it's patched soon

@Velosian Thank you for commenting on this thread and providing these screenshots! There's another thread on this with people experiencing the same issue, so I at least take comfort in knowing it's not an issue on my end.

And same, the completionist-side of me aches because I can't finish the zone. :'-)

Hi All, thanks for noting this. The dev team has seen this and is working on a bug fix now. It should be in a future incremental patch, but we'll clarify that once the fix is complete. @Neyhtsul do you have a link to the other thread? We can follow up there as well.

I apologize for bringing this topic up again, but the quest is still broken. All symptoms are similar to those described in the first post of this topic.

Ah, sorry, and i also forget (my apologizes) to include the following:

So, after numerous attempts, I managed to pass the quest.
The algorithm was:
1) Before I entered the Lost City, the room where Paldeen was, as well as the entire road to the monument (near which Paldeen "broke" earlier), was cleared by another player.
2) I went to the Lost City, reached the cell where Paldeen was originally located, took the quest. After that, without stopping, I ran to the monument.
3) At this place, Paldeen "broke" - he froze before reaching the monument.
4) Without canceling the quest, I went to the platform with pressure plates (scorpion, spider, scarab), passed the "public event". After that, I returned to the monument.
5) As soon as I approached the monument and took a couple of steps to the tunnel through which we initially come, Paldeen came running and this time reached the monument, after which the quest chain finally started working.

I hope this algorithm helps someone. And I hope that this quest will be fixed so that the players do not have to invent "tricky ways to solve the problem"

Wow, thank you for your involvement in this thread and your dedication in trying to solve this!
I'm glad you've managed to make it work, and I will definitely be trying this out tomorrow and post my findings here.

I'm counting the devs will pass an official fix soon(tm), as Kevin said.

Hi,

Just reporting to say Hessalam's solution didn't work for me.

Or at least, I wasn't able to reproduce Hessalam's conditions, since:
1) I had to clear the path to the monument myself
2) no one was present at the dungeon to pass the public event

Perhaps someone else will be lucky to give this a go.

For what it is worth, I hit this bug today. Then I ran up the side tunnel to the right as you face the tablet and killed a few things, after which Paleen came running down and I was able to complete the quest

Today's patch should have fixed it.

Just tested it in-game; it works!
