TRADING GUILDS
If you want to sell to other players in ESO, you will have to join a Trader Guild or a Guild that has a Trader. Once you are in one of these Guilds, you can access the Guild Trader through any bank by selecting Guild Store or directly through the NPC Trader. You can see where your Guild's Trader is when you click G (default keybind for Guilds) and open the Guild window. The name and location of the Trader should be in the lower left corner.
TRADING BASICS
You can post up to 30 items (stacks up to 200 pieces per one slot) at a time. The Guild will benefit the most if you have all 30 slots filled at all times. No pressure, though! You can also support your Guild by buying items from your Guild Store so whenever you need something check your Guild's Store first. You can access the Store from any bank or directly from the NPC Trader.
Before posting items for sale, please check the prices for those items. Never assume you can guess the price blindly. This may lead to overpricing or underpricing. If you overprice the item won’t sell and if you underprice it will sell immediately but someone else will just resell it for more and earn what should have been your gold. Also never choose a price based on what the game itself suggests for selling those items to an NPC Merchant, because it will be significantly underpriced and you will lose a lot of gold.
USEFUL WEBSITES AND ADDONS
The best way to check the prices is the
Tamriel Trade Centre’s website. Make sure that you select your platform and server before browsing because the prices vary significantly between all platforms and servers.
If you want to use addons, the most useful ones I have found are
TTC and
MasterMerchant. They both have the same role, but I prefer having two pricing suggestions so that I can determine the best price for the item I plan to sell.
AwesomeGuildStore is also pretty useful if you want to have more Guild Store inventory tools and some automation.
If MasterMerchant is heavy on your game, you can also try
Arkadius Trade Tools. It’s definitely lightweight, but I found the pricing suggestions to be much less reliable than the ones offered by MasterMerchant. If you choose to use it, always use it alongside with TTC.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE PRICE?
For me personally (this will not necessarily be the same for everyone and for all items), the best formula for selling is to keep the price slightly over the average of what TTC suggests. If it doesn't sell in 3-4 days, I recommend lowering it down to the average or slightly below average. On the other hand, if it sells fast, you can set a slightly higher price next time you post the same item for sale. You can experiment with the prices as much as you like, and as long as the items sell.
Keep in mind that the TTC addon has to be refreshed every single day so that you can have the latest information. If the pricing is outdated you may undersell something and lose gold or overprice it and it won’t sell at all.
BEST ITEMS TO SELL- All jewelry platings
- All materials for purple and gold upgrades
- Almost all raw materials (especially the provisioning ones)
- Almost all refined materials
- Materials for jewelry traits (especially the Bloodthirsty one)
- Materials for gear traits (especially the Nirnhoned ones)
- Master writs (with the exception of the jewelry master writ which will probably never sell)
- Runes (yes, even those bought from an NPC enchanter)
- Glyphs (blue or higher quality)
- Motifs
- Style pages
- Gear sets that drop in DLC areas (example: Briarheart)
- PvP gear, PVP motifs, and PvP currency (example: Keyfragments)
- Rare runeboxes
- Rare recipes
- Event drops (especially few months after the event is over)
- Rare drops of any sort (example: Perfect Roe, Hakeijo)
I would also recommend going through your inventory (and craft bag, if you have one) and check the current prices of all items you have. This may give you a better idea of what is worth selling and what is not. Besides the price, TTC also tells you how often an item is being bought, so you can take advantage of this stat to sell items more often.
