Which role people use companion's for the most at the moment?

Just as a general question: Do you prefer to use your companion as DD, as Healer, as Tank or do you actually prepare several roles depending where you might use your companion?
In which content do you think do your companions perform really well, in which not?

I use my companion as Healer.

I currently have Bastian as a tank and Mirri as a healer.

99% of the time I have a companion out is Mirri; the fact that devs love invulnerable + strong AoE/reflect phases as a design feature and that a companion in the tank role will kill themselves 100% of the time when presented with it gets old fast.

I am aware that you can 'command' companions but slotting a companion command that they may or not heed anyway in my rotation, that gets old fast too.

Either way a 'healer' companion brings more to the table than a tank one for my solo/duo forays.

I use my companion as Tank.

I use Bastian as a tank, I haven't leveled up Miri yet, but I will set her build up as a dps when I do.

I use one/both companions with different roles at the moment.

I have Bastian as a Tank and Mirri as Healer. Depending on what class I'm playing at the time... typically I use Bastian to tank World Bosses and Mirri to heal especially against Dragons. Overland, I typically keep Bastian because I prefer his personality more than Mirri. Once Isobel and Ember drop, I'll be using them more frequently overland, keeping Bastian for the tank and Mirri for healer. Isobel I plan to make melee DPS and Ember will be my go-to melee DPS for stealth, thievery type content.
