How much time a day do you spend dealing with crafting?
I do the equipment writs on 4 toons and that plus enchanting on my main. The consumables writ board in Riften is pretty far away or I’d do enchanting on all.
I spent about 30 minutes doing all daily crafting writs on PS4, it’s a little faster on PS5 but I haven’t timed it. I was pleasantly surprised that the loading time for switching toons is faster. That really helps.
I do some crafting for housing, but generally spend way more time farming for furnishing plans than actually crafting new items for my houses so it’s negligible.

1-4 chars per day. 5 minutes each, plus the minute+ of switching, and my main crafter will do any master writs which takes a couple more minutes. Most days I just do the one non-main-crafter and then adventure a while, if I don't have time to burn.

Lucky you! I timed it and it takes a minute or so to do 7 dailies, but 5+ minutes to swap characters when you take the log out and log in delay into consideration. I have literally clicked logout and waited over 2 min before I get back to the login screen, if I didn't know better, I would have figured my computer froze up... and this is on a 1 year old high end gaming rig with only a couple addons that are very low impact (maybe 10 extra seconds due to addons delay)!
I'm on PS4 and spend almost no time at all on crafting because I prefer to do activities that are actually fun. The one thing I've started trying to do in the last 6 months or so is keep up with my research timers on a couple characters so I can transmute stuff when necessary.
1-2 characters for 5-10 minutes each (including loading screens).
Plus refilling the precrafted consumables now and then, +5 minutes every few weeks.
Plus doing the master writs, which takes quite a while, but only every month or two.
Plus actual crafting for guildies, reconstructing/upgrading new gear, etc. - too random to slap a number on but doesn't take too long nowadays.
The last time I tried to do crafting dailies on my several characters on daily basis was the time when I dropped the game for 6 months in the end.
So, I don't do that kind of things now. Doing them on my main? Yeah, for sure. Maybe even relog on my secondary main and do them one more time. But never ever do that on all of the characters.
One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

Me is russian little bad in english :b
I spend about an hour or two every workday morning going through writs on a few characters while I drink my coffee and wake up. I have 4 characters set up for max tier writs and a 5th that I'm currently levelling. Sometimes I get through all 5, sometimes just a couple or even just one. Sometimes I get through all 5 with time to spare and will hop on other characters to set their research and feed their horse and maybe do more writs, or maybe run a daily or something.
For me this time is more about having a morning routine than it is about getting through as many writs as possible so I'm taking my time and also doing endeavors and some other things. So I get some work done while I'm at home waiting to go to work, and once the weekend comes I feel like I've done my due diligence and can just play.
Over the weekends I'll still do writs on my main crafter, she has her own routine, and is the only character I deconn with so she's gonna be at the tables anyway. My other characters though I only bother if I'm in town waiting on things.
Basically, none. Not any more. Used to do it on all characters each day. With the help of a bunch of add-ons, the Vivec crafting run takes about 2 minutes to completes (assuming you automate it to the max) plus a bit extra due to inevitable random things that are bound to slow you down. Rarely does a run complete without some random thing requiring your attention for a while.
Then sorting out the rewards, and selling all the trash, listing stuff on the trader, and banking stuff you intend to use on another character, takes a bout a minuter (or two, if you do not have access to the crafting bag, and thus have a lot more crud to wade through), and finally add in a minute or more depending on how congested the servers are, to switch form one character to another. Thus the end result is, that it tends to take about 5 minutes per character on average. Which seems to be the general consensus, based on what others have posted.
If you invest time into bulk pre-crafting, you can whittle it down even more, like a minute and a half, but you do need to factor in the time and effort it takes to manage and store all those pre-crafted assets, so... Is it worth a 30 second save on each run? Dunno. And don't care, since I no longer do these runs. Not regularly anyway.
The reason for this is, that doing writs is kinda pointless, for me at least. Gold is almost worthless, and don't really need all that many tempers any more (and most I get end up being sold for more gold anyway) and got like 2k in vouchers gathering dust, so no point in it really. You don't really need any of that stuff for questing and doing story content. You don't really need it for endgame stuff either, you get plenty of tri-pots as freebies from daily logon bribes, and as long as you are okay with being only 90% as effective as the latest hottest cutting edge META, you don't need to update gear all that often either.
So the only real use for gold is to buy all the endless collectables and things they expect us to chase. Like motif pages and furnishing plans. And the game is drowning in motifs - like there is well over 100 styles already, and I simply do not care about them any more. I didn't use most of the previous 100 for anything, and doubt I will use the next 100 for much more either.
And the same goes for furnishing plans. There are thousands of them by now. I long since realised that it made lot more sense to sell that super rare purple for 500k in the guild store, and then buy the half a dozen pieces you need for 10k a pop. That way you don't have to worry about the mat grind either.
But even with that in mind, housing is silly expensive and tedious in ESO. Back when I was actively working on my homes, I did the writs on 10 chars each day, and actively farmed stuff and sold most of it in the guild store. That way I managed to get about 1m a week, two thirds of which came from writ based rewards. All of it went into housing related expenses. Must've sunk well over 30 million to may main manor alone, and prolly close to 15m into the other houses I have.
Doing writs is the single most efficient way of getting the resources you need to be able to truly explore housing in ESO, and it simply is not worth the time and effort it requires. Running the Vivec route with 10 characters took an hour or so each day, week after week, and it got extremely tedious. But doing anything else would've taken even more time and been even mere soul crushingly boring.
Eventually I decided that ESO housing just wasn't' worth the time and effort it required, and thus my need to do the writs evaporated. Besides, I'm still sitting on 15m in gold and prolly 'nother 10m in materials, and haven't' done anything meaningful with housing in well over a year now. I just log on once or so a week to do some PVP and 3 or 4 times a month to do some questing and story content. I do the writs if I run past the writ board while doing other stuff, which basically never happens if I logon to PVP, and ignore the whole thing otherwise. I just no longer care enough to bother with it, since I really have no use for gold or any of the other crud you get as rewards from writs. At this point, I see it as yet another inconvenience mechanic put in place to encourage you to approach housing with real money purchases instead of in-game resources. That, and to also artificially inflate logon times to prettify their user statistics.
But that's just my experience, I'm sure others will disagree on my assessment.
30-40 minutes doing daily writs and checking research on 3 toons. But from the perspective of farming (including surveys) and refining I have no guesstimate. I know it’s a lot.
Practically none. I have the hard crafting skills maxed on one character from years ago, but as a whole I feel the entire system got shafted hard by ZoS and thus I don't feel any motivation to engage with it. So much potential, so little effort.
