game crashing on pc since last mondays update

since last monday i have had crashes in dungeons just crashing to desktop and disconnects also. since changing my pc i had 2 crashes in 4 weeks i have had about 8 in last week and getting a lot more happening since the patch last monday in dungeons and trials. also a lot of other players in my guild have been getting the same problems that they are getting a lot more crashes this last week. So not sure if it is connected with the patch last monday 15/11/2021

Any chance you saved (or saw) any 'crash logs' ?

Also, regarding the bold ^ ,you might wanna post a few more specifics (like OS version, videocard driver, add-ons or not, etc. ) -- And don't forget about checking/posting over in the PC section too sometimes: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/categories/pc-technical-support

I've been hearing quite a few other players in-game zone chats complaining about crashes recently, but i myself haven't had any ESO related game crashes in like 2 years. Not one. Of course, now that i just typed this, i probably jinxed myself lol *knock-on-wood*

i was crashing upto every 10 minutes on old pc since blackwood but with this pc i have 2 in 4 weeks and both were disconnects to desktop instantly. its pc on eu with rizan 5 and a radeon rx580 and 16gb ddr 4 ram. and has been very steady since i got it. but just seems like since last monday getting more crashes in a week than in 4 weeks, in fact four times as many. one in trial , 3 in dungeons and others random ones. 3 i think were straight to desktop ones but the rest have all been disconnects were everyone freezes except you and then 2 mins later it logs you out. but not had a disconnect in a month . also I asked a few others in my guild and a lot have been getting more crashes than normal and noticed this week on the bug reports xbox xs crashes ps5 crashes reported and had been stable since deadlands and only seems to be since update on 15/11/2021 that the crashes have gone up. maybe its with the undaunted event as its crashed the server before. but will not see if it gets better till after it ends. also i was just crafting a set in my house and it disconnected just after 10am uk time with not too many on pc eu yet so shouldnt be a load issue. but something has changed in last week

you must have a very good pc as i seemed to notice that older cpu computers are having alot of issues with rendering in the game as players saying they see you fighting and cannot see anything you are attacking. so looks like a new pc can handle the game a lot better than older ones now and since blackwood has got a huge amount worse for older pc users. it definately seems to be the cpu loading not gpu issues that is the problem as i saw it as old pc had a 1060 nvidea and 32 gb of ddr 3 ram and couldnt run any addons or game crashing constantly and was fine until blackwood came out so what ever they changed then really seems to have altered the cpu loading or way the game runs on older pc

yes i have tried all this when i went through it with you before with my old pc @ZOS_BillE . Just with this newer one i had 2 crashes to desktop in 4 weeks and was getting that in an hour with old pc. i am not getting crash report windows just straight to desktop but it only started to get to one a day or every few days from update 2 weeks ago from today but it might be the undaunted event that is the issue as its since both the patch and the event started the crash rate has gone up more. its still not bad though but way more than previously and was getting told by a number of my guild that they were having way more issues with crashing in last two weeks also. i wasn't sure if anyone else was noticing the same but appreciated @NeeScrolls for mentioning about the support page with way more info about crashes and possible help info so thank you @NeeScrolls

No problem and by the way: Of course within a matter of only hours of typing that reply did i end up having my 1st *game crash* since like 2018 LOL SO TYPICAL ( i guess my knocks-on-wood didn't work so good )

There could be an issue with your add-ons or with your settings leading to these crashes.

Try removing add-ons as described here and see if the crashing improves.

We also suggest deleting two settings files to ensure ESO is at it's default settings. To do so, follow the instructions below:

1. Open up the Documents folder on your computer.
2. Open the Elder Scrolls Online folder, then open the Live folder.
3. Find the ShaderCache and UserSettings files.
4. Create copies of each file, then delete the originals.
5. Close everything and start ESO again.

NOTE: This will reset all in-game settings to their defaults. Please take a moment when you next log in to review the settings for the game.
