No cross platform in ESO. Closest is PC/Stadia

No and there never will be, though there should be.

I would be okay with a Playstation/XBox cross platform. But not a PC/Console cross platform. Oof, that would be rough

ZOS says it's a first party situation. Since Microsoft now owns ZOS, it should be fairly obvious which first party has the veto rights and is holding things back.

It has been said that it's far more possible to get a transfer than full cross platform play and even that would be a stretch at this time.

Yeah, I heard the guy who stole this company recently sold it to MS and has died. In the case of FFXIV I can take my settings from my PS3/PS4 and play that same game with everything including how I had set up my controls to the PC its pretty unique.

I would prefer to transfer for example my Fallout 76 and ESO Account to the PC and just play on my controller there

Cross platform for ESO would require merging the servers as its not an lobby games nor run discrete servers like WOW or FF 14.

This would make the high load problems like start of events pretty permanent and probably crash the game on new dlc releases.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Cross Platform would mean all Add-Ons would have to be disabled.

PC players would never let that happen hahahaha

A game needs to be designed from the ground up to be cross platform, and the publisher needs to decide that all the limitations of doing so would be more of a benefit than a hindrance to the game. While publishing for PC's is easy, as there are literally no rules, every console platform has it's own rules about it. They introduce a bug with an update, they can patch the PC version as soon as they make a fix... on consoles it can take days to move through the validation process, which could effectively shut the entire game down until it does. Then if that fix didn't actually work... start the entire process over again.

Currently, PC's act as a beta test platform for console patches, which is why we always get them first and have to deal with the issues, so they can minimize the impact and delays when publishing to console.

All that said, they should implement a transfer service between platforms. It pains me to see transfers, who may have been playing since beta on one platform, have to start over from scratch on another, especially since there *may* have been a large amount of limited availability crown items purchased on that account, never mind all the work put in for other things.

I would love console cross-play. I don't want to play with PC

Blaming MS when they JUST bought the company is pretty funny.

    The truth is more sinister.

If you didn't follow the Epic trial against Apple, a lot of very interesting gaming industry dirty laundry was aired.

On this topic, we learned that Sony has a very interesting requirement for cross platform games that have loot crates.

If XB users generate more money via crates and subs, Sony would require ZOS to pay them a portion of those profits. That's what they did to Fortnite.

We have no way of knowing if Sony would demand this of ESO but it wouldn't surprise me. It's no secret that Sony has always resisted cross platform. Meanwhile MS made changes to XB in 2016 to increase cross platform capabilities. Take it how you want. Draw your own conclusions. 🤷‍♂️

On a totally unrelated note... I miss SOE, they made some of the best games ever IMHO and I enjoyed playing them very much. Oddly, they were all PC only games if I recall, probably one of the reasons why Sony sold the subsidiary.
