Installing ESO

Earlier today, I needed to reformat my external HD, so I erased all contents (which included ESO). Now, however, upon attempting to reinstall ESO, I'm unable to do so. I keep getting this message:

“'setup' can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. Software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information."

Can ESO still be installed on a 2017 MacBook Pro? If so, is there a way to update the software so that it runs properly?

Double check if you need to accept it to open anyway in the security and privacy preferences - it will say something in the lower half of the screen like (can't remember exact words) accept setup anyway. You may need to put your password in

Already tried that; no luck. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
