Panther fang has two issues that need to be addressed before release.

It sucks that I have to defend Pantherfang because honestly I think the docks you port into is really nice, and the chapel is on the smaller side and the fort is built in such a way where adding to certain areas might just be obtrusive clutter. I’m not compelled to fill every single side room in the fort because honestly the little triangular-shaped rooms would be difficult to do much with, so I might block them off. More slots for other areas.

Would I want 800 slots or even more with notables? Yes, of course, but I have a feeling that even if we got what we wanted, forum users would endlessly complain, even if the discussion isn’t relevant. Right now it’s a lot more productive to produce design ideas to fit inside said limits instead of endlessly dreaming about something that may not even happen. We aren’t in control of that and plenty of voices have voiced their displeasure with the current limit already. At least... I don’t know... be able to talk about something else? Whenever I see a discussion post on anything a bit more reasonable, it just gets upvoted and/or ignored, and discussions about slot limits get a lot of comments. As a “creative” person (creative as in liking art, not as a self compliment), I find it a bit sad since I feel like it always derails everything in its path.

It really is not “bigger than the main city.” The Psijic Villa is much bigger than this property, maybe even 2X more, and I have managed to fill that place and decorate three custom structures, one of which a tower. I’m not sure why this is being perpetuated. That’s ridiculous. If every Notable home started being downscaled in size then homes would start feeling more cramped and there’d be a lot less room to build. Sometimes I like to give a room a makeover but that’s actually very hard to do with an already small room. And the courtyard is just big enough for something. I like cozy homes but I’d like homes with breathing room too. Ex: I know it’s not meant for it, but the other day I was trying to build something custom and transformative outside in Daggerfall Overlook, but all the obstacles outside made certain spaces too small, so it’s hard to do.

TLDR: It’s fine to request smaller homes with bigger limits, but don’t sabotage already existing houses for not being that one house when others might be excited for it. Makes me feel sad when I like a house but others are always like “Meh, not enough slots” regardless of if the house itself looks nice. Often times people don’t even try before being dismissive.

First of all, I don't see myself as bashing this house. I said there's two major problems with it, that doesn't mean it's an objectively bad house. I consistently compliment houses. In fact, I sent practically a love letter to the devs for antiquarian.

I am not the kind of person who constantly asks for more slots. I don't join the people asking in the main threads and I generally tell people to suck it up. However, I bring up item count in this case because I thought the option of 700/section was a different take on the whole, give us more slots demand. This is something eminently doable with this house, given that it has three zones.

I would not complain if we got what we wanted. I'm not a forum griefer (look at the posts on the main page, I celebrate housing). I said this with a great deal of respect, too. But I figured if I called this out so much before it went live, we might have a chance to have it change since these are reasonable given the circumstances. I am not "just bashing" a house for no reason to upset others who LIKE the house. That kind of behavior isn't even in my capacity.

Basically, I'm not sabotaging anything. My record stands for that. I encourage people to be creative, am positive, and my history has been positive about previous homes. This is just something I felt needed a big red stop sign and reconsideration before releasing with suggestions that are possible and reasonable. It's not just walking up and saying THIS HOUSE SUCKS BECAUSE BLAH DONT BUY IT. I have nothing for respect for the devs. It's a lovely home with some big problems. That's all.

@StabbityDoom First of all, my post was not *only* directed at you, as there are others who have also posted on this thread, but I’ll address your points.

“That doesn’t mean it’s a bad house.” Okay, but on the forums as a whole, which you should be able to recognize what people generally say on the forums by now, with every house, I’ve seen many people say things in regards to all the notable houses (not just Pantherfang, even on the new one like Sweetwater Cascades), people will say “Oh, it’s beautiful! ...Wait, it’s only 700 slots...? Not getting it then. *Blah blah why it’s an outrageous terrible house.*” And then the houses hit live and people decorate them just fine.

The only critical response you’ve given has been towards my post, which was addressed to EVERYONE who has been saying “not enough slots!” in many of these replies. This happens in almost every thread.

“I would not complain if we got what we wanted.” That’s fair, but I say sabotaging because people rail on the notables if they don’t get smaller houses. What you said in your original post: “Let’s be honest, big houses aren’t going anywhere.” How is that not discouraging homes like Pantherfang to exist?

You just said it was in regards to “build space,” which it still isn’t. That’s not what a disclaimer is. And you said you might be wrong, and I’m simply saying it came across as ridiculous, and you weren’t the only one who said that. Again, I did not @ you.

I don’t really care what you’ve said or done in other posts. I know the things you do for the housing community. That is not relevant here though. I was just responding to the thread I see in front of me, as well as the countless posts that say the exact same thing. There are some good points but many I also disagree with, and a lot I see as unrealistic or exaggerated, hence my post. And I never said I hated you or disliked you. I simply had a problem with the way the direction of these threads (literally most of these threads) were going. It’s tiresome, and the solutions have already been addressed in previous threads.

(Edit: Edited a bit so as not to be so aggressive. I’m a flawed human being so I can make mistakes. But I don’t appreciate it when things were said that I feel contradict previous statements, which is a pet peeve of mine.)

I try not to contradict previous statements, and even admitted you were correct about other things, but I have terrible mind fog and try to retain things as best I can (and refresh myself on it) but sometimes I just can't do it well. Thanks for the toning down of parts of this, I am flawed as well (moreso than most). I'm glad you are so pro-housing and that you like it so much. It probably makes the artists very, very happy.

I'll answer two things and feel like the rest were well taken points.

big homes aren't going anywhere - Big homes make ZOS money. Many of us want to see small/medium houses, too, but big homes seem to be the thing they focus on because they make money. If I wasn't clear, the *variety* is what I meant. Devs, I'm not saying to get rid of big houses. Just a nice variety would be good.

second, as for what I do for the community, it was only relevant so that I could show you what my *intent* was, which seemed to be in question - it was not to sabotage or siderail or grief. It was to help. That's all.

@StabbityDoom I have just been very tired of the usual complaints people have. I enjoy the usual threads where people showcase their homes or show what they’ve done, but usually nothing ever gets anywhere if it isn’t about the usual slot discussion, when I just want to see what people will *make* with the homes, but they never talk about that... I am so into design concepts and ideas but it seems that people have nothing to say unless it’s a complaint that they can’t put 2,000 items in a house, or that “this certain thing exists about this house, so I simply won’t make this thing,” instead of trying to make it work.

I might have misunderstood you on the “Big homes aren’t going anywhere,” but I will simply say that if someone makes an airship in the back courtyard of Stone Eagle, it is their decision, and not necessarily the fault of the house. I asked a while back what people have done with it because I personally am excited to make a build there, because I think it’s one of the most beautiful homes in recent times, but unfortunately I didn’t get much response to it besides a handful of helpful lovely people. I wish build ideas and designs got more traffic.

I might have misunderstood your bringing it up then. Sorry. I didn’t mean to jump down your throat. I thought you might have been singling me out and pressuring/intimidating me while hiding behind a good reputation because I’ve had bad experiences in the past, since I was the only one responded negatively to when frankly so many people on the housing forums are so negative all the time about anything, when I thought this was a beautiful house, but I can’t think that... I understand the forums are for feedback, but is there nothing nice? 😕 That is all. I did not say “I don’t care” because I don’t like the threads you make, just that when I make comments, I respond to what’s in front of me, because I can’t possibly know everything you post.

Edit: I myself am a person who has always been misunderstood, targeted, or scapegoated, so I don’t have many friends because I am simply tired of people, and I am a very critical person with good intentions. I can understand being misunderstood. It’s a bit scary to make posts like this since I have a bit of social anxiety, but I try to push past it and defend certain aspects of housing, because the dev team does listen to us, so it’s important what we say and do on the forums. It might have drastic consequences to where they never make “big” homes again, who knows. I build with almost nothing but notable homes because notable homes tend to be the only ones that stand any chance to be shown on housing tours or contests, and if I didn’t have breathing room then I wouldn’t be able to make a lot of my designs. I felt differently than a lot of people about this house it seems, so I wanted that passionate feedback known, and that if people like the house then they are not the only ones.

@TeruKisuke well then I'm really glad you answered and pushed through it. It's important us socially anxious people get heard. I swear I don't see myself as the kind to pressure or intimidate, I'm actually pretty shy and scared - I can open up a bit on stream because it's got that space there between me and others, so I feel safer? But I hate upsetting people. I spoke up because I thought I could help, but in retrospect, given your points, I do agree it may have come off the wrong way or not have done what I intended. Sorry for that.

On the bright side, I think the house is different, and that's refreshing. The separate zones are much more varied than in say, HOTLC. I love that there's water in it, and that you can build up high in the ramparts as well as in the castle/temple. I expect to see some amazing builds in it. I hope I see yours Add me as a friend if you are on PC/NA or PC/EU, I'm tired too, and it's always nice to have friends who understand that.

@StabbityDoom Unfortunately I’m on Xbox NA because all the friends I (used to) have (for the the most part) were console players, but I have debated leveling up a character on PC purely for the sake of seeing people’s homes. The console community, while having some nice builds of their own as well, are a somewhat isolated community, so I see a lot of the same builds and PC has a lot of varied and different (but that is a “the other side is greener” mentality lol.) I am trying to be more active on forums though and I might post some of my builds soon (though I get socially anxious when I self-advertise so I usually don’t do it often.)

In any case, I apologize as well. I’m pretty aggressive even to people I care about and I am dreadfully honest about how I feel, so it’s difficult sometimes. I will definitely build with this house though. The canals have this lovely atmosphere about them, and the chapel I look forward to filling with things like flowers.
