Hi there. After the Blackwood patch, I've been experiencing constant stutter and fps drops in random areas and encounters. This happens not only in busy scenarios (like dungeons, bosses fights, dolmens), but just with overland questing as well.
Until now I never had a problem with performance, I ran the game with a constant 90~100 fps. Even in the most demanding situations, the fps never dropped below 50 and it always remained a smooth experience. This is no longer the case.
I couldn't pinpoint when this stutter happens (ie, using a specific skill or in a specific zone), because it happens out of the blue. I'd say that 80% of the time the game ran as before (smooth with high fps), and then 20% like crap. Whenever it starts stuttering the fps drop to the low 30s, but feels like I'm playing with 5 fps. I literally can't do anything.
Nothing has changed on my end. I'm running the game using the Steam client. My specs are:
- CPU AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor
- Motherboard Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
- RAM Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 CL16 Memory
- Storage (OS) Kingston A400 500GB SSD
- Storage (Steam) Crucial CT1000 1TB BX500 SSD
- GPU Palit GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB GamingPro OC Video Card
- PSU SeaSonic S12II 520 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
It is not the greatest computer ever, but, again, until now I never had a problem with ESO. As far as I can tell, this is not related to network latency or anything like that (never once lost connection while this stutter occurs).
Did something change in the client? Is there a new setting or anything that was added, removed, or modified? Thanks!
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I asked around the guild and several other people are experiencing similar issues.
