number of furnishing in pre-furnished houses

I've been pouring over and visiting every medium and large house, making notes and narrowing my selections down. I ended up with 2 medium that I really like and 2 large. I always thought I would buy my first house unfurnished until I saw Alinor Crest Townhouse. I cruzed that one very slowly and I'd say I like 80% of the furniture. The style works in that house. So now I'm thinking I'll get this one furnished but I still want to add make it more personal. Is there a way to find out the count of furniture you'll get if you buy furnished so you'll have an idea of how much of your own ideas can be worked in?

    Take a look at the UESP Wiki — it lists all the furnishings you get with both the unfurnished and furnished versions. (I just Googled “ESO Alinor Crest Townhouse” and it was one of the first hits.)

    It was the first house that I bought with Crowns and I do recommend the furnished version. I gradually added to it and eventually replaced many furnishings as well, but they get used elsewhere too. :)

    Thank you, especially for mentioning your experience with buying Alinor with furniture.

    I also got the furnished version of that house, fairly instantly upon release, and the furniture looks beautiful anywhere. I'm particularly in love with the green verdant chairs and benches - so much so I ended up buying the furn-recipes because I needed WAY more! :D

    Mixing and matching is an artform, I usually match those benches with green rugs and carpets and loads of plants for an outright verdant feel - lots of marble surfaces that can also be mixed with the new marble'ish dwarven furns <3
    Edit = Typos ... as usual. <;D

    Yeah, the decision to go for furnished / unfurnished versions is always a tricky balance, especially for houses that you can buy for gold Unfurnished, and for Crowns Furnished (like with the Alinor Crest Townhouse). The UESP site is a great resource, as Aranea mentioned!

    It's useful to focus on furniture that are Crowns only. If you see the Furnished versions having several Crowns-exclusive pergolas, paintings and whatnot, that you would absolutely want for your house anyway, it's usually better to buy the House furnished with those Furnishings included, than to try getting them individually for an Unfurnished house. However, if most furniture that you would want are tradeable/craftable (such as many Alinor style furniture or the Treasure Chest drop paintings), you're often better off buying the house Unfurnished with gold, and buying the Furniture for gold from traders or crafting them yourself. :smile:

    The cutoff ratio between 'more worth it buying Furnished' and 'more worth if buying Unfurnished' depends on your personal interest in Crowns furniture that come with the Furnished version, on your platform's crown-gold ratio, and the ease and availability of buying stuff from traders in your economy (PC players for example can buy stuff from traders very easily thanks to AddOns). Ever since ESO added Crown Store gifting into the game, I usually recommend new players to think about their house purchases with that relative value in mind.

    (For example, Alinor Crest townhouse can be bought for 6000 Crowns Unfurnished and 7500 Crowns Furnished, which on PC/EU are around 3.3m and 4.1m gold respectively. In contrast, you can buy it Unfurnished for 1m gold ingame, and then spend the remaining 2-3 million on buying/crafting furniture.)
