Increase in the number of random disconnects

Has anyone else noticed an increase in random disconnects recently. I hardly ever used to get them and now it's at least once a day and sometimes as many as 4 times. I've given up completing the on screen form as it's mere repetition, i.e. I was clicking on a merchant, I was clicking on a crafting station, I was clicking on my bank or I was doing nothing at all.

I've noticed that this patch has brought the 'lobby disconnected' and 'lost connection' errors back when trying to log a character out (not quitting the game). Had one or the other happen 3 out of 36 times. I don't believe I had those errors at all last patch.
You can't sprint and use abilities at the same time.

I have had this happen at random about half a dozen times this week.

Not doing anything specific, screen locks and I get thrown right out of the game.

    Really irritating.

I would sometimes lose my entire Wi-Fi connection while playing ESO, even though my iPad still had a Wi-Fi connection to our network. It turned out there's a "Let the computer disable this device to save power" setting for each of the network adapters in the Device Manager, and that setting was checked rather than unchecked. I would never have checked it myself, so I have to assume that either it was always checked by default or it got changed by a recent Windows update. I know that ESO tends to use a lot of CPU and GPU, so maybe the power consumption was hitting some threshold that led the computer to disable the Wi-Fi adapter? I dunno. It might be worth looking in your Device Manager to see how that option is set.

On ps4, it's some times changing from blue screens to black screens on occasion. I've never seen this happen in any other game in the 7 years or so that I've owned it. The screen literally goes black for about 10 seconds. I thought my tv had turned off. Then it slowly faded in with a blue error screen. I'm still getting blue screens regularly. This was just something entirely different.

I am crashing more than usual this patch. Lost connection or something like that is typically what I see. It happens at least once a night, i used to go months without a crash.

oh! wow! really? I've been in a huge fight all week with my ISP assuming that they were doing something. But the problem I have is exactly like you described, and I only lose my wifi connection playing ESO. Recently I also noticed that my phone and tablet remain connected, but I lose the connection on PC. Is it possible to be cause by ESO?

If the computer has "permission" (by virtue of that setting) to turn off your Wi-Fi adapter to save power, and if ESO (or any other process using the Wi-Fi connection) is causing the computer to use more power, then yes, I think the computer might conceivably decide to turn off or disable the Wi-Fi adapter to save power-- but I'm no expert, so if someone with more/better technical knowledge/understanding than me says I'm wrong about that, then I won't argue with them. ;)

I haven't experienced any more Wi-Fi disconnects while playing ESO, but it's only been a couple of days since I changed that setting and I haven't played ESO a huge amount during the last few days. I did notice that my Wi-Fi connection was briefly lost early yesterday while I was playing TES:Arena, but it reconnected itself right after I noticed that the Wi-Fi icon had changed to the little "no connection, connections are available" globe. I think our modem and router sometimes reset themselves as part of their "regular self-maintenance."

The problem I was having wasn't just that I sometimes lost my Wi-Fi connection while playing ESO, but that the computer was unable to automatically reestablish the Wi-Fi connection. I had to either reboot the computer or run the troubleshooter, both of which were presumably restarting the Wi-Fi adapter for me.

I don't think I have any permission for that set anywhere on my system. Anyway, I just got disconnected a couple of times in the last hour and I noticed that, this time, the wifi or internet connection was never lost. And I've been avoiding playing in groups or even being in very populate areas. In fact I've been using this troubled time to decorating the house, alone. But I'm still being constantly disconnected from the game. It's really weird.

Something is definitely wrong with the game this week. I just got removed from the game and at this moment i was monitoring the internet and there was nothing wrong with it. Still, the game considered that my internet connection wasn't valid. :( I'm going to continue asking for help from my ISP but I guess that this is not their problem.

That setting has nothing to do with the actual power consumption triggering your OS to disable your network adapter. That is only when your computer enters the sleep state. If your computer is not automatically reconnecting to the WiFi when the connection is lost, then you should really try and just remove the stored wireless network profile, and reconnect to the WiFi again.

Thank you for that information. However, the troubleshooter reported that the network adapter had been disabled and had to be turned back on, which was why I searched for information about the issue. Normally the computer does indeed restore the Wi-Fi connection automatically, so I was just sort of living with the issue.

You say you do repairs. BUt the increasing number of players getting randome dc seems to be ignored, I had them way to much recently. Just doing easy banking and housing. Cleaning bank and inventory, and Getting dc 70%-80 % of the time on the same trial bosses, example Vrg second last boss. Guildmembers have the same issue with hardmoe last boss Hell ra. ,ANd more and more stupid disconnet keep happening to a LOT of players including me. 99% of us never used to have this problem until recent updates. the Last 2 years. Since 2020 i had a lot of dc propblems. suddenly they stopped, But they are back now-- randomly. And it is very, ery annoying. And a waste of time with all the relogging etc, and error messages that dont make any sence. Somtimes you get kicked in a middle of fight to the login screen> but you still can use skills etc for about 30 sec to a min. then you are gone. Other times freeze , and you see login screen or another picture from eso, like traveling to dungeon screen. But mostley yo get black screen ,and after a while you are on your windows screen.
This has been going on for to long now. You keep pointing to update this and update that, BUt that is to easy, Like i said before, The game has been working for years without big trouble, and then over night it starts to be *** up. I am writing tis out of frustration yes, but with good reason. It is time to dig deep , and try and find where that problem lays.
ps. lately when doing a lot of banking etc, doing a lot of moving arounfd gear etc in bank, inventory, chests etc. including crafting, decon and so on, Disconnect- black screen also happens.

I've noticed this too. It seems to happen the most often when I am either changing zones or leaving a dungeon and going back to the overworld.
It also occasionally happens when I try to log in. My character load starts but then freezes mid-load and kicks me back to the login screen.
