It started with just base damage, then executes and specialized damage sets like Elegant, Sheildbreaker, etc..... , then a bunch of movement buffs and immunities to stuns, CC's and off balance, then big ults and hard hitting skills, then dots, and now procs... We are almost to the point where the only way to kill someone is hit them with 10 light attacks for 3k each.
I have been playing Execute Builds for years, (the kind of builds that hit for 15k but don't have much sustain)... and the problem with this game the only people the mods listen to are these rock kiting streamers who never set foot in an objective, spend all night trying to 1 v X and if anything hits them for 10k before they can break LOS the game must be broke and something needs nerfed!
The only reason anyone even uses offensive procs is because everything else has been nerfed to worthlessness. The difference between 2500 spell damage and 5000 spell damage is barely noticeable, it like 4000 damage vs 5500 damage, when your opponent has 30k health, 6 movement buffs, 30k resistance, healz out the wahzoo...who cares.
and now throw in CP where I'm going from +24% on direct damage to like +200 Spell Damage! what is that, like hitting someone for 3200 instead of 3000, lol.
- and by removing the up to +34% on Heavy and Light attacks you just killed two of the other biggest executes in the game -Overload and Molten Armaments (which is already slow, but could be used as the front end of a combo or to kill some kiting troll as he runs away, oh??????? that's what it's all about right?
I could laundry list every offensive nerf in the past few years, and all the defensive buffs.
But it comes down to this, if you can hit someone hard, even if it takes a ton of preparation, is really slow, or you can only do it once then it gets nerfed. Most "elite" players have some advantage to where if everyone was exactly the same they would be better, but if there is variation there are ways "inferior players" can sometimes get lucky. Right now, cranking up a big attack combo, with some proc in it or what is left of a DLeap (after all the nerfs/timers/damage reductions) might just hit them for 15k and they won't be able to kite those 6 players around that tower for their 30min video... and apparently that is what the game is about.
