I Bought the DLCs for Naught

Dear ZOS,

Over the years, I have played this game faithfully. My favorite was and is PvP. It always has been and always will be. And over those same years, I was so excited each time a DLC was dropped. Not because I like pve, but because of the new armor that was coming out and how awesome it was to have the new armor for pvp.

Now, I sit with a maxed out bags and bank full of armor that I cannot use in pvp anymore. I never played the DLCs. I only bought them for the armor, but now you have removed the ability for me to use them in pvp until September. I'd like to have a refund for the DCLs that I never played but purchased because I couldn't get the armor otherwise.

Could you please direct me to the person I need to talk to in your organization for the refund, please?

I'd like to get this information as well. I am disappointed you have decided to abandon PVP as it appears by your actions you are actively trying to kill the the game mode. At the very least it appears you are trying to convert Cyro to a large battleground which is NOT what I was sold when I started playing this game!

Guys don't forget to pre-order the next DLC so you can not use those sets in Cyrodiil also. I'm wondering what they will do come September? Extend it further? I can't believe people want to be so limited in build diversity. There is no creativity with what we have to choose from.

Those of us who purchased DLC's for the sets to use in PvP just had our products stolen by the manufacturer in many respects. Can we get our money back now? (not a serious question, but a legitimate one at this point)

Its strange because they obviously made the decision because people came back to pvp in Cyrodiil but why would these people spend money on a DLC to get items they cant use in the place that they came back to the game for? lol.

On point with this....I also bought all the DLC specifically and only for the sets that would otherwise not be available if I did not. Any reasonable person can see if you are taking the use of the gear away till September with no real commitment to being able to use the DLC gear even then, you should open a line for PvP players to get refunds on ALL of the DLC's we now hold unusable gear for.

Only people who wanted the double AP. I don't see this being a long-term help to the dwindling population. Once double AP is gone, Cyrodiil will empty again. All you will have left are the ball groups running around on top of keeps killing pugs.

Someone asked a really good question ... How can we trust a company with our money and time who seems to be crapping on us constantly?

Relax just wait for them to release the crowns store 10k item allowing you to use procs. After all it'll help limit the amount of proc builds behind a pay wall.

It's not ZOS' fault if that's all you choose to do with the DLCs. You could've saved money and bought the sets from Guild Traders if that's all you were interested in.

Plus, procs still work in BGs. And there are non-proc DLC sets that are still viable, like Shacklebreaker.

You completely missed the point. People paid money to be able to access content with the intent to use it in pvp. No one could know that Zos would then make all dlc redundant for pvp players, wasting their money. And you cannot just buy gear from guild traders because that is limited to overland sets.

Yes some stuff obviously still works but diversity, creativity, theory crafting is all gone. There are basically 3 or 4 copy paste builds that are viable right now.

And saying procs still work in bgs and ic is irrelevant when cyrodiil is the main pvp mode of the game and always has been. Imperial city is dead every day of the week and not everybody wants to play that or bgs.

Yes, and not to mention the Psjic Skill line that we had to buy the DLC for. That was one of their worst DLCs in my opinion, and while some of the skills are beneficial to pvp, the only way to get them was to endure the content.

Yep. We should be able to get at least partial refunds now that the dlc's we bought just for gear are useless to us. We never would have bought them if not for the new gear sets.

Its not just DLC's but also chapters,
Greymoor was only useful for Mythic items which now have no use.

6 months to just implement a 'no proc' campaign is really insulting to the playerbase imo we deserve better communication and action on the subject but we won't get them. I thought ZOS might have been turning a corner when it comes to communication but a Friday afternoon hidden on page 30 post about such a drastic change with yet again no information on the tests other than 'the performance was the same or worse'. It's not looking good for a pvp population which was already facing threats from games such as New World etc..

I agree that there is little creativity left for pvp builds with just the 19 sets, but IMO its a better option then the proccmeta we had. I hope come septemeber that we get some kind of compromise and statbuilds are just as viable as proccbuilds and hybrids between the 2 aswell.

Pretty sure in terms and agreement basically says you are just leasing your items on your account and ZOS owns them at the end of the day. Something like that. Also that you agree to them doing major changes to the game whenever they want.

That said, separate the conditional stat boosts from the conditional free damage/heal for 30d competive locked campaign. PvE, 7d casual, IC and battlegrounds can be for the proctatoes.

    You can get a refund.

However, player goodwill and recommendations is an asset that seen ESO succeed, and was bankable.

The loss that has just occurred will be putting a heavy dent in the company's pocket and also in business value.

Refunds is peanuts compared to what just got written off.

To be fair,I think most people like the idea of no damage proc sets, but don't want 90% of sets deleted.

I hope ZOS will let stat buff sets back and just keep out sets that do free damage and healing.

Nobody has an issue with new moon, 7th, lich, torc of tonal constancy, ogrums scales etc etc etc

Sets like crimson, vatershan destro, sybaras scales, calurions etc are what a lot of people would like to keep out of pvp

Well, spoken. I think that is the most disappointing item of all. I specialized in customer service at a hospital that I worked at and I must tell you that this move is entirely disappointing. I don't play the meta usually, but this feels as though we are being forced into something that I'm not sure everyone wants. Granted, I do not speak for anyone else but myself, and although I know some close friends might agree with me, I do not presume. I do know, however, that most of the population don't have anything to do with the forums so using the forums as an indicator of what "most people want" isn't reliable.

I wish they would just come out and straight up tell us if they are not wanting pvp in this game any longer or where they stand on it. I get the feeling they really don't want pvp because they can't really fix the problems. All this drama and cloak and dagger stuff like hiding the announcement on page 30 of a thread is quickly making pvp less fun.

However, when you add up the money spent for sets that we can no longer use, this feels more like ZOS is fingering my pocketbook while removing any benefit given back to the pvp-ers.

Interesting to see how people view this, in that would this count as Promissory Estoppel? We purchased DLC and Chapters with the reasonable expectation that we could use their content within the game, only to find out that we can't for the type of play we enjoy.

The only thing is, does ZOS releasing this content count as a promise that if purchased we would be able to use such items within the game?

I have 9 different PvP characters. I developed them to take advantage of all the different sets and styles that used to be available. Variety and creativity were the best parts of ESO PVP and now they are gone. It's like going thru the drive-thru and ordering the Jacked Up Burger with BBQ sauce, an onion ring, & pickles but when the food gets to your car, some dude runs out of the kitchen grabs your burger & scraps off the toppings with a spatula leaving you with only the patty & the bun. Then he says, "Hey sorry. Due to cooking times which we cannot improve. We are only serving plain burgers now." When you complain that you ordered the Jacked UP Burger and paid the extra cost for it, he says, "Oh well we reserve the right to serve you any kind of burger we want and some people are intimidated by our great line of specialty burgers and prefer boring bland burgers. Oh and we are going to pocket the difference between the burgers' cost ." And after asking if their cooking times improved they respond, "No but we're going to keep doing it anyway."

    My solution

    CP+ Proc sets
    CP + No Proc sets
    No CP+ Proc sets
    No CP +No Proc sets.

This way the people who want the proc edge can play with others who want the proc edge...and the ones who don't need not worry about the clear monetary advantage given by new sets every 3 months.

Just know that if this happens 1 v X won't come as easy and most people who have similar sets as people will not die just like others with the proc set. Then they'll have those few people with the high skills and proc sets dominating those with the average to little skills with proc sets. Then those average people with proc sets will realize that the set only carried them over people who didn't have/ could afford the newer sets in the first place. Then they'll realize there were not as special as they thought.

I believe that yet another "test" to "improve" Cyrodiil gameplay will result in a failure with the only outcome being major discontent from the players. Those proc sets brought this thing called "variety" into PvP, allowing plenty of options. If this whole idea is to reduce the burden on processing power, well, it does not sound fair to solve ZOS technical issues at the expense of the players (i.e. customers). We all pay money here, so if processing power is not enough, then probably invest more into it.
