Cyrodiil Test proposal - Remove AoE caps

Hello Mates, hello Zos

This is my first post ever, even if I'm pretty seasoned, mostly a PS4 PvP player, with lot of 1vX experience, small scale, big scale, ball groups. I rerolled a char on PC 1 year ago, after a long break, and I've found cyrodiil in a very bad condition.

I was very excited by this title at its launch, and it was really good during beta. Hundreds of players on screen at the same time, little lag, no health desync etc,
Then people (zerglings) start complaining about small scale group, AoE burst, wiping 50 vs 5 etc..

Those small group came from DAoC, WoW, GW2, had nice coordination and tactic. They used to "spread", "kite" etc, they're hard to kill and at same time, can wipe zerg with sincro AoE burst. But, they were addressed as "hackers" from the crowd (zerglings) and generated thousand of reports. So ZOS introduced AoE caps. Lot of hardcore PvP players left, but we got LAG.

Can ZOS remove AoE CAPS for a week? So we could test cyrodiil as it was designed.

It could be attractive for a lot of PvP players out there, that left.

    Care to elaborate what you mean?

    They already essentially removed aoe caps. There is a hard cap of 60 targets on damage aoe's, which is rare to hit more than 60 enemies with a single aoe...

    There is an aoe cap on heals and buffs of 6, but if you remove this zergs will become too strong?

    May be I'm wrong but actually there's a cap system:
    6 would take full damage
    6 would take 75%
    everyone else would take 50%.

    Doesn't it involve more calculation that raw AoE dmg?

    Unless they put it back on, I thought they removed it a while ago, maybe around morrowind dlc.

    "Area of Effect abilities now deal full damage to all targets hit, instead of having a damage penalty after hitting 7 or more targets. Secondary effects from those Area of Effect abilities (snares, stuns, etc.) are still capped at 6 targets."

    Tyvm @Sandman929 I was looking for that.

    Btw a lot of AoE skills have secondary status effect (streak, caltrops, talons, impulse, subs, permafrost, bone totem, soul thether, negate, encase, bombard, blockade, impaling shards, eruption, colossus, boneyard etc. Etc.).

    So, for any of this cast, you need a
    double check, one for damage, and one for capped effect...
    ...same problem as before, or even worst, in terms of performance?
