I have been having a great performance in Cryodil.
It seems like the latest patch and the smaller groups and no cross healing appears to have had a noticeable effect.

Yeah the meta is a bit trash but whatever it will change again.

Until ZOS actually fixes the current crashing and freezing issues NO The Game Is Not Worth Playing

They said they’re working on a fix. It cannot come fast enough with how the game currently plays.

PvP/Many Dungeons/Trials are broken and not worth the time rn.

Once fixed yh I would say come back because the new arena and content is worth doing.

PvP has become quite different, stat dense builds are a dead plaything and proc *** are da thing. If you’re not going to harp on how PvP use to be and can enjoy what the new meta is than yes by all means enjoy.

Potatoes still die fast and blame you for using procs in duels/bgs/cyro/ic
It is still fun if you don’t take PvP as competitive but who has for the last few patches.

For competitive PvP there are way better games to play rn which I do.

The game is barely functioning in any content right now. Go in with low expectations, if you do decide to try it.

I would have to strongly disagree here.. not sure what you are experiencing, but I can do anything in the game with very few interruptions

Come to Cyrodiil. Many of us are experiencing bugs. My game just crashed again 2 minutes ago.

Cyrodiil is not "the game" only a rather small part of it

The performance in Cyrodiil is poor if you want a busy campaign where actual PvP happens often. Granted, it is not always laggy but when it does lag it is bad.

The GF side has not improved and has actually worsened. I do not think there has been any improvement in ensuring groups have four players. We have also seen reports of sub-50 players being put into vet BGs. That is an issue that the dungeon side has been seeing for months and I have not seen Zos acknowledge it.

I'm in a similar boat, just came back. I subbed, but my impression is that the reasons I originally left are not changed at all. Most of the game is good, but cyrodiil is frequently a mess, and you will continue to bump into game structures that make you feel like a pawn with a wallet. But basically its still the best MMO out there :)

In my opinion, they just ruined PVP as of this weekend. Not because of bugs or lag but because of a willful decision they made that absolutely flies in the face of everything that ever made Cyrodiil great in the first place.

So if PVP is your bag, stay away--unless you want to join a ball group. But if you're one of those [snip], I'd prefer you stay away anyway.

That depends on the players playstyle. I only PvP and the changes to grouping are a great thing for me... Though I do empathise with the healers that enjoyed the freedom of healing allies on the fly.

PvP performance is the best it's been since February before U25 or it has been for me so far...

Might want to wait another year. They just did a large round of testing skill cooldowns in Cyrodill and came to the conclusion that more tests will be needed so... Not looking great. If nothing improves within a year, then you won't miss much.

The only way to know, for yourself, is to log on and play.

If you prefer greyhost, you might find that game performance is not consistent to such an extent that the game will disconnect. (This does not happen much to me and disconnecting seems to be uneven with the players on if they disconnect and how often.)

That said, it is better in some ways, some elements have improved since you left, one of which is the frequent load screens while riding in the upper part of the map no longer occur.

A thing to note is that being away so long, you don't have the new gear that is popular, but maybe that won't matter.

not really. pvp is in a trash state. game still has desync issues, dud heavy/light attacks or targeting issues, skill delays, etc.. which imp sure you'll experience all those issues in both pvp and pve

If you have nothing to play then I would say yes to just catch up in terms of Skills / Armor etc. Though TBH, The only life I see in this game is when they have free trials or holiday events.

To be brutally honest if there was a better MMO out there I would be playing that. Hopefully A time out on ESO for some of us on Dec 10th (fingers crossed)

I cancelled my plus 4 years ago, and still waiting for performance to be fixed to an acceptable level.

You will hear from people that they aren't experiencing issues and everything is fine, but these people don't actually experience any of the content besides their housing and normal overland content.

The game performs great, until you actually try to accomplish anything whether it's cyrodiil or veteran trials or dungeons. cyrodiil has been broken for the past 5 years performance wise and most veteran trials are so broken and plagued with crashes over the last year it's just completely unacceptable especially for a billion dollar company. The only thing they actually seem to be concerned about when it's broken is the crown store. Super frustrating to actually care about the longevity of ESO in 2020.

Tell me, what is it that I do not experience when I play.? I do PvP, trials, vet trials, dungeons, vet dungeons and delves on a daily basis.. so I assume it must be battlegrounds that is not working, since I hate those..

Right now there are a plethora of bugs and random crashes but straight up lag-wise I have not had any problems since Markarth came out.

Two patches ago the lag was near-apocalyptic and, at least for me during the last two weeks, it has been pretty smooth (minus the random CTD that happens once per session or two).

Playing competitively has been an exercise in frustration for some time now due to bugs both in combat and in various dungeons/trials , and with all the crashes, freezes, lag spikes, endless loading screens, etc., even playing casually can be frustrating. In terms of content added, and quality of life features, the game is at its best, but in terms of performance and combat, it's limping. They've been slowly but steadily ruining the combat experience. I'd say try it for yourself, but definitely don't sub right away.

It looks majority of your game are on the PvE side. How much percent of time did you spend on PvP? Do you go to Cyrodiil often and pushing hard on leaderboards?
80% up of my time was spent in Cyrodiil. I got game crashes and bugs often and I sent tickets to customer service, sometimes with system generated bug reports.

By the way, I don't have any add-on.
No improvement on Cyrodill servers -> no ESO plus renewal.

I took close to a year break myself and just came back around this last month. If PvP is your main thing I would have to say don't return it's really in a terrible state, going to Cyrodiil or BG's makes me wish I stayed on BDO....I'd rather get nuked by a person who took months/years at progressing their gear and learning their class than dying to people with less skill because of procs dealing insane damage.

Now if you PvE the game is fine....but there are bugs such as crashing for some people especially in some dungeons. The core of the game is good but it just lacks proper consistent combat direction, this is for both PvP & PvE.
