Where are all my characters ?

My wife and I had 12 characters with 13 slots available. Today we logged in to find only 1 character that we never created. It is also showing that it is one of 8 slots.
The character showing says it is level 5 in stonefalls. The character name is Moppel. All of our characters are gone.
Our characters are: Finnn the Mighty, Finnlorn,Sir Finn Barkalot,Sir Finn Templar,Cali Crowfriend,Muddy Puddles,Bloody Marah,Blackfeather Bani,Greymoor Gremlin,Plays With Alduin,Nahleia Shunatei,Leia Shunatei. We also have an active ESO plus account.
We play ESO through Steam on PC-EU server. We have logged in 7608 hours since 2017. It would kill us to have all the work we have done gone.
We hope it is only a glitch. We submitted a ticket #:201109-003191

Thanks for the fast reply, but I found out that somehow the game didn´t log in to the PC-EU server. All our characters are there, but it does not explain why a character named Moppel is there on the PC-US server.

So after all they said in the past it is indeed possibke to transfer characters between servers? But being serious now, I feel your pain

So you stole some German char named "Moppel" ...? That translates to "Fatty" in english ...
