Bound and Unbound instances of furnishings

If a furnishing is available unbound (craftable, lootable, from a furnishing vendor, etc.) why not simplify things by making ALL instances of that furnishing unbound, including those bought with Crowns? It seems to me like just an extra variable for the system to keep track of, and another hassle for inventory, as I certainly don’t want TWO instances of a furnishing taking up space and must take pains to place the Crown instances first (you’d think it as simple as selecting when you go to place the furnishing, but no, I’ve selected the Crown instance only to place the crafted so the distinction between the two instances is already maddeningly imperfect). What would ZOS or anyone lose by making all instances of these furnishings unbound?

Pros and cons. A con: Devalue tradable items at the guild stores by flooding the market. Solitude tables come to mind with the antiquity home offering.

Crafters offering these goods for profit suddenly devalues the incentive to farm the plan or offer to the community.

I see your point with furnishings in homes that a great number of people have received at once. Although inn rooms are free and usually come with a furnishing light that isn’t bound.

As for craftable furnishings, if they are currently offered in the Crown store, then people already have options as to how to obtain them. I can’t imagine the market being flooded with furnishings bought for Crowns. Plus, the newer furnishings are usually rather expensive and some furnishings aren’t available from the Crown store at all but are only craftable — that wouldn’t change. Finally, some furnishings aren’t craftable but are available from home furnishing vendors for low cost in both cases (many plants for instance).
