Blighted Blastbones snare (Hamstrung)

Hey everyone,

So I was dueling my buddy and started to notice that occasionally when blastbones hit me I would get tagged with a nasty snare. I did testing and came to a result.

When you are crit by blastbones from the sides or behind you it applies a snare called Hamstrung. From the searching I have done this is a PvE snare applied by NPCs and sits at 60% snare strength. I assume this is a bug and submitted a ticket about it. Has there been any response from the combat team on whether or not this is intended on blastbones.

This has been bugged for quite some time, with numerous reports and posts mentioning it, and ZOS hasn't really shown any interest in fixing the issue. And since it's an "NPC Snare" it will go straight through Mist Form and other snare immunities as well.

Yeah I had read that it went through mist form which seems very overpowered given the strength blighted Blastbones already has.

Gap closers apply a similar snare, leap is the worst and most noticeable but ambush and toppling charge are bad too. The times you notice most are when outnumbered and getting gap close spammed plus these ignore snare immunity. I understand wanting gap closers (especially ults) and pet damage to hit but but to effectively unconditionally lock down an outnumbered with a spam of gap closer and pet snares is just unfair.

Damn, I actually noticed this yesterday when I encountered a Necro. I did think the snare felt a bit strong than usual.

I should have mentioned it in my previous post, but this same bug also affects "pets" that proc from some item sets, like Morkuldin and Maw of the Infernal. One of the most obnoxious things in the game is trying to fight a Stam Sorc wearing Morkuldin; their mobility is basically infinite, and you'll be perma-snared even if using various forms of immunity. The only thing I can think of that might help would be the Snow Treaders mythic item, since the "NPC Snare" is in fact cleansable, it just goes through ordinary immunities.

I read that maw of the infernal got fixed.

Maybe, I'm not 100% sure on that. But I know that Morkuldin is still bugged and permasnares the target.

My guess, so BB can get to its target easier when you spam it. Remember how horrible it was and had a 50% chance of not even getting to the target? This might by zos' answer.

That's still a little extreme given it can't be purged and the only snare that's stronger is on a 200 cost ult.

The "NPC snare" can be cleansed, despite going through regular snare immunity, which is why I said the Snow Treaders mythic item might work against it.

But I seriously doubt it was any sort of intentional change to the ability. It was never in any patch notes, isn't in the tooltip, doesn't always trigger, sometimes triggers even if the Blastbones launched from in front of you (and you keep facing that direction the entire time), and as far as I can tell doesn't seem to happen on the inferior Magicka Blastbones morph.

Oh ok I thought it ignored all snare immunity. I need to get into antiquities because snow treaders looks really powerful on the right setup (such as a werewolf)

Remove Hamstrung from all NPC enemies.
It's two birds with one stone, as it slightly reduces the load on the server.
