Houseguests = special collectables, too?

So, unless I am mistaken, that still means a maximum of 10 houseguests, service individuals (banker/merchants) pets and mounts in the largest homes?

Will this cap be raised now we have houseguests, so we don't have to delete pets and mounts from current homes to add them?

It makes no sense for house guests to be special collectables. They are mostly going to be in the crown store. Why would ZOS put such a choke on sales by forcing players to make painful choices between having pets, mounts, services and guests in their homes?

Technically, house guests should be in the furniture crown store, because they are more interactive furnishings than pets - in the sense that you cannot call them outside of player houses.
I hope they put them in an extra category soon. With an separate counter in addition to the pet counter.

I completely agree. It seems counter-intuitive to their objectives.

Because, hey, if I have to choose between mounts/pets I already own and have set up and a new houseguest I have to buy? I'm not bothering with forking out moolah for the houseguest, ZOS.

Was excited to get the new free housegeust... won't be using them though, for this reason.

If houseguests are in the same category as pets then I won't buy any as I have no room for any more. I'm not gonna get rid of my cats for them.

I agree. And the whole furnishing categorization affair is about as confusing as trying to master EVE Online in a day.

I won't be buying them either, but mostly because they're crown items. That said, I am pleased to see that the pricing is much less than I expected, though I don't think the cat is worth 700 crowns more than the nord (even though he has more dialogue).

But, with pathing, I can see that these fall under special collectibles, wherein they want to keep the number of pathing objects to a minimum. I can see that assistants/pets/mounts/houseguests would all be in the same category due to this alone.

That's not to say that I don't think it's too low. I would love it to be increased, just not sure it can due to the pathing feature.

And yes, this limit does add another reason for me not to bother with them. I've got the free one, and she's out at the Gallery, but I doubt I'll be getting any more.

It has not been raised yet, which is why I will not waste a single crown on them since I already have pets in my houses that I don't want to remove. If they increase the special furniture limit for ALL houses significantly, then I would actually consider to buy them.

Moreover, I've passed on buying a lot of pets due to how low this limit is. So ZOS have already missed out on a few buck from me by having this tiny limit on them, and this will continue to be the case it seems.

I wont be using houseguests in place of my mounts of pets. Especially with the event home. Its outdoors is perfect to place a bunch of pets outside and give them pathing. Even the largest 700 slot ESO+ homes do not have enough slots to use houseguests instead of our pets.

I am sure ZOS may revisit this, but for now I just see no incentive to invest money into house guests.

It was this low before the pathing, too. And bear in mind, the maximum of 10 is with the largest houses WITH ESO+

So my witch cottage (and the owner of that house loves her animals) has a maximum of 6, with ESO+ She has her 3 horses, her 2 dogs and a cat. She won't be having any guests.

My Templar wants to retire to a farm. His pack horse, 2 goats, 2 pigs, his spouse's mount, his dog, and her dog and... welp. No room for the chooks on the 8 max for the house he's chosen. So, he won't be having a nord guard, after all. Saves me AU$10 on crowns, I guess.
