Why isn't the ESO Plus membership I bought on console working on PC?

I am posting some information about an issue I had been having and it it took a couple of hours just to find out what issues are with my account. I want to make sure no one else had to go thru the frustration I just went thru.

I subscribe to my ESO Plus account on my Xbox One via Xbox Live market place (I normally play on my Xbox). Well, I decided to play it on my PC instead so I would have more people to play with since some of my friends play on PC only. I already had the expectation that my character would not carry over since cross platform play is not supported. But what really disappointed me is I found out that after many attempts of trying to sign into my ESO Plus subscription on my PC that I would have to pay ANOTHER $14.99 (separate subscription) just to play on my PC. I am aware I don't NEED ESO Plus subscription in order to play on PC; but that isn't the point. Its the expectation that if I want to keep playing on both platforms using ESO Plus that I have to pay $14.99 for two separate ESO Plus subscriptions on the same account. That is $29.98 and I find that to be really pricey just to have access to ESO Plus on both platforms.

As a result, I will not be paying for another ESO Plus subscription to use on my PC. That is too much. I just wanted to vent a bit, warn others, and share the support articles I have found.

I am really glad Microsoft bought Bethesda because now I have hopes that Microsoft will find ways to consolidate the ESO Plus membership mess that currently exists. The Xbox Game Pass has proven that this can work. So on that note, I am waiting patiently to see when this is going be resolved.

Here are the articles I found on the subject:

ESO Plus is platform specific. This means a ESO Plus membership on Xbox will not carry over to PC and vice versa.

I am aware of that per my documentation I provided from the support pages. I just think its really awful that ESO Plus member requires two memberships just to be able to access ESO Plus on two different platforms. Its the same service and there is no need to charge extra.

That's why I said Microsoft will find a way to do away with that pricing model for sure because they have Xbox game pass now running to allow cross platform access without having to pay extra for it. I paid one price and done. I now have access to game content on my computer and console. They are even trying to phase out xbox live gold memberships in favor of the game pass model. The even consolidated EA premium memberships with game pass which will be available in November. So, yeah - they bought Bethesda (& Zenimax) and I feel pretty certain this subscription based model that exists now will not last forever as long as Microsoft has a hand in it. And for once I don't mind, I hope they fix the heck out of this mess.
