Can someone help me understand the difference between ZOS and Bethasda? Microsoft bought ZOS. Does that mean Bethesda is still it's own thing? What does that mean for Elder Scrolls (Not Online)?
This line is very interesting, this would mean lootbox changes are coming, since not everything in these boxes can be earned in-game. But this also means the game would be made into a major grindfest, maybe ruining the essence of ESO.Avariprivateer wrote: »Items in loot boxes can always be earned through play. Interesting indeed!

But that loot box qualification only applies to games made by XBox Studios. ESO doesn’t fall into that category, so there’s no way to know if Microsoft will expand its “responsible loot box” philosophy to ESO to avoid hypocrisy or toe the technical line that ESO is not an XBox Studio game and therefore not subject to said philosophy.
Only time will tell...

I agree that we probably won't see any chances within the year or the next. However, I do think that Microsoft's loot crate philosophy can have an impact on ESO's system because it is a reflection of the company in an ethical way. An issue that receives public attention. So they will probably quietly encourage ZOS to start shifting their loot crate system to reflect their philosophy. Who knows though...

My hope is that we'll finally see some movement on it. I would imagine that Microsoft is going to want to cash in asap and releasing ES6 is going to be the quickest way of doing it.

Microsoft tried a persistent MMO in the past. It was called Asherons Call. It was a disaster. Didn't last long.
The creative team for ZOS won't change. They may go in a different direction, but that's normal. Other parts of ZOS, the parts that are in a support role will get moved around or eliminated. Position like QA and server maintenance will become redundant and fall under the umbrella for what Microsoft already has in place. Probably the first place the players will is a change is in the forums. Forum management is normally maintained by a 3rd party contractors and Microsoft will want to use whichever contractor they use now. 2021 game plan won't change much,, we will see some new names, but the next chapter for 2021 is already will on it's way. Of course all this is just conjecture on my part and Microsoft could chop up ZOS and sell it for lunch money.
