Switch between speakers and headphones

Is there anyway either by mod, or in game setting to setup a profile in the game for headsets and speakers that you can just switch back and forth between?

During the middle of the day I want to have the game, or anything really playing through my external speakers, but then at night when people are asleep use my headphones. Obviously the sound levels are quite different between the two and always having to go back in and move the slide bars to adjust is pretty annoying.

With Windows 10, I can adjust the Volume to different levels for each output.

This may not be possible the console, so, what are you using to drive the headphones? If you are using your stereo, you can adjust the volume with the remote?

Use Headphones that have their own volume control? Most headphones have that feature.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I'm on PC and yeah you can do that for basic volumes, but not the nuanced stuff like Ambient sound or footsteps. It all just comes through to much on the headset. So I turn it down, but then when I switch back you cn barely hear anything so you have to mess with it.

Ultimately sure I could "write down" the settings I like and quickly do it. Wouldjust be nice if they had a setting in the game where you can select Headphones or Speakers and Apply it on the fly. I also don't think it would be to difficult to implement as it would just be a sub menu or something under the audio menu.
